Crufts 2016

Genetic engineering in its worst form, who decides the breed standards, the rubbish that is spouted by these clowns is unbelievable. The whippet for example should have no flat surfaces only curves as said in their commentary. so if you want a whippet dont get one of those long flat backed types that are bred for health and speed, get yourself a nice little roachy backed number that you can breed from and charge exhorbitant prices for an inferior animal, the show fraternity must be bordering on insanity if they believe their own bullshit. :hmm:

That Shepard looked terrible' walked terrible .

A sad state of affairs when a dogs that far away from breed function and still wins it's class :(

Bird you best send the kennel club a pic of Buck and show them a standard they should aim towards.

Perhaps a pup shouldn't get a pedigree certificate automatically.

Maybe only animals over 3 years of age which show good health.

I was looking at a parson jack Russell in the pub. The owner was telling me he was going to put it out to stud qhen it was older...it was only 5 month old...most of the pub turned on me when I pointed out it was a disgusting, trembling, light weight skinny excuse for a dog, and amazingly none of them even understood about its slightly undershot jaw, they thought I was cruel for looking in its mouth to try and explain.

Sad what the KC closed system and their breed standards has done to sound healthy breeds. If they would only take a step backwards or even sideways and outcross to a Belgian Shepard? No wonder most police forces in the world are steering well clear of GSD's and leaning toward the Belgian type. We all k ow about kennel blindness. But this is kennel blindness on a massive money grabbing scale.

A buddy of mine pointed out a while back the the Sealyham was in serious decline and numbers registered below 100 over the last few years..... On their way to extinction. Then I see the KC wheeling out a promo on C4 to promote the breed. Showing all the "celebs" that own them. With a image as rare and nice price tag they are sure to make a comeback. LOL.

To hear the Irish supervet fella commend the great work of the KC was a laugh and even suggest the medical treatment of dogs should be on par with humans? Cha Ching for him and all the other "vets for pets" milking poor pet owners for all they can get! Did anyone else notice that since pet insurance arrived getting a simple treatment or op for your dog has quadrupled over the last 10 years?

God knows where all this is going to end.......

If all breeds had to do a working trial to the standard they were originally bred for not one of the dogs at this years show would qualify. They need to go back to the genuine dog men & women who work there dogs for there foundation stock & start again! The kennel club,it's judges & vets should be in court & charged with animal cruelty. Perhaps the RSPCA should be concentrating on this rather than trying to persecute the hunters of this country.

Just after googling it. How can they say this is what a good example of a German Shepard should look like. Give it 10/20 years they will have the breed ruined.

Shane, the Breed is fairly ruined already. You would have to travel far and wide to get a sound specimen of a GSD. At that you would need the parents and pups tested for genetic faults. The Belgian Malinois is a fine animal by comparison and still considered a mainly working breed...... not ruined "yet".

true  , but like most breeds ,once they become popular and kc people get there hands on them, there doomed  if you want a proper Alsatian today, you got to get them from E/E and Belgium lines, thats where my dog dam lines are from ( working dogs) ( not show crap)
