Nice pic Malt, a few years back we had a guy come to South Manchester and do a display in the local park with his birds, and he explained about using them for pest control and hunting which is rare to hear in a city.

Saw a couple of tiny wrens today, went back out with the camera and the place was like a graveyard lol

Oyster Catcher.....I'd never seen one till a few years ago but it's a running joke with the wife and I now...."Oh it's just an Oyster Catcher"

Striking birds, not sure where the turnstones are at the moment, they should be about!

I'm not a happy camper, my photos are all coming out like crap.

I have these two which aren't particularly good but is this a Grebe and a Shag?

Pretty sure it's a female red breasted merganser and a cormorant Nick....

Thanks, it was quite interesting to watch it feeding, I think next time I go over there I'll go on my own so I'm not rushed and take the tripod with me.

What bird is that?

They look like meadow pipets to me Nik...

They're the little birds that cuckoos secretly lay the egg in, then the 2 small host parents feed a chick that gets over easily 3-4 times the size of them...
