I got brand new pair of green knee high ( turned over) sealskinz country socks rrp £45 for £6 marino wool and gortex lined. I think I'll always ware them in future regardless of what boots I've got. Warm & comfy.........& my feet don't sweat like they did with normal thick boot socks. When I go out hunting here, I'm normally miles away, often in a different country! So it's nice to know your feet are going to stay dry throughout the day ;-) ......& £30 fcuk all!
