I really see no problem with credit as long as you aren't an idiot with it. I have sympathy for anyone who is genuinely going through hard times though. I think a lot of us felt the pinch a couple of years ago.

The serial debtors - the ones who "know their rights" when the bailiffs turn up are the reason the rest of us have to pay such high interest rates when we do decide to borrow responsibly.

I watched my Dad work hard all his life, unless he was seriously unable to work, he worked, from 15 to his 65th birthday he grafted, we noticed he was acting a bit strange just before he retired, may

Want it pay for it.......I agree with that wholeheartedly........except society is not engineered that way so get real !! The whole world is running on debt, anyone who thinks it makes you "the good

For me personally it depends on the debt..   Personal debt to buy a TV or car etc is not something I go in for, I've not even got a credit card..   The business on the other hand works by using de

Same here not got ,due a penny on tick if I want something I pay cash or save up for it

Some debt is entirely unavoidable, how is anyone supposed to buy a home in the current market without a mortgage?

Aye that's a thing I worry about for my kids hopefully it will be a long , long time before they get this one and or split it for a deposit on one of there own.

Aye the market is totally fecked, really is a sad state of affairs when for a lot of the next generation their only hope of owning their own home is getting an inheritance

here the average house price is 18 times the average income of the youngsters, not a chance in hell of buying.

So they get stuck renting a one bed flat for £500 a month  I don't see many well qualified youngsters hanging around in the UK after graduating, they can pack off to Europe/Australia/Canada and have a much higher standard of living with the chance of actually owning their own home at some point. A few friends have kids that are already making plans along those lines for when they finish uni.

the sad fact is the village is becoming full of old people or rich people, i assume this is happening all over. my youngest starts uni next year, the eldest is engaged and still lives here as his fiance lives down the road with her mother. this is the only way they can afford to live here, very wrong indeed.

Do you watch that bailiffs programme that's on the tv the now. The older guys are a couple of genuine lads. They do all they can to help you if you look like you are in serious trouble and are struggling. But they turn up at people's houses where the c**ts have been receiving housing benefit and pocketing it and not paying the landlord. House packed with top of the range gear. I'd f**k them straight on the street.

Why should we all struggle by trying to have the better things in life while working out arses of and others just take take take.

f**k me there's some folk led sheltered lives or never took any chances!!

The whole of the developed world is in hock to the tune if trillions and yet your ordinary Joe soap who is being raped day in, day out by the very same governments is meant to feel ashamed of not paying off a car loan !!

These people will write of f***ing zillions of your money at the stroke of a pen to cancel 3rd world debt, pull in every small business owners over draft to pay for it and he will be the poor c**t losing his house and not being able to pay his suppliers !!

f**k sake, does anyone have a clue what's actually going on in the world ?.........it's not 1930 any more !!

To many people want everything now....not prepared to wait and save like people used to

Theres an obsession in this country with owning your own house

I see far too many people that are all top show and deep in debt

There's a saying here that the Flemish are born with a Brick in their belly's, such is their obsession with owning or building a nice pile......& you can really see it as you drive through the suburbs or villages, streets full of completely different very nice houses!

......& there's also a joke that they've got the nice house, but are living on baked beans through the week....haha

Every argument seems to begin with "but the government do this....."

So f**k!!! We know there a bunch of useless bent b*****ds but it's a long road to change that.

Doesn't mean to say you can't take a bit of pride in yourself and do the right thing in life.

Nothing wrong with taking chances, that's how you get breaks in life. But if you take the risks you then you have to be prepared to face the consequences. This is why business's rack up debt, go bust, finish other smaller business's in the making and then start up in a new name!!

Haha it's funny you should say that........When I first came here I still owned the bank a few grand or so after my PPI claims had got me out of the shit.....

I picked up work within 3 weeks & cracked on, continued putting in my re-payments in good faith, then I gave up work & I thought there's no way I'm gonna let the mrs pay this......anyway, I ring the bank & I tell them I can't pay & they referred me to their debt help agency.....

I spoke to this women, who incidentally sounded just like Mrs Merton haha.....I was expecting to be going through some repayment management plan & she just basically said f**k them! Haha.....She couldn't believe I'd even been attempting to pay Lloyds back, she just said ignore all their letters & calls, it's all bullshit & crack on! That was my debt advice...haha

Wake up, they are not playing to your rules!

They make the rules up as they go along, if you are in business then you better get real and start realising what you are dealing with.

You are putting your money in an insolvent bank, which is then used by an insolvent government to f**k about about with to other insolvent governments !!......the only one playing by the rules is you!.......and your loosing !

Not you personally I don't mean, but in general obviously.

Why is OK for the government to write off 15 billion quid and wrong for some bloke who has tried his hardest to play by the rules to go bankrupt and write off 10 grand ?

This is the reality, there is no other !
