Pics aren't very good ,but all I got on this PC

1/2 bull greyhound x coursing dog x 1/2 bull greyhound

Doesn't it really matter how many lurchers someone has or if they see enough work? Their not your dogs so as long as their looked after and are fit and healthy does it really matter? If I could have

I'm the same as Doubleya, in that although i have two lurchers (well, one an a half!) I only want to keep and work one. (My other is a bit old an broke!)

I've never understood the need to keep many lurchers (or dogs for that matter!) But unfortunatly lots of folk are collectors and constantly want the next best thing. Foolisly thinking that you need a 'specialist' for different types of graft. Truth is that the poor dogs hardly get the graft, or attention, they deserve and one dog, if brought on right can do almost anything...

The best thing about owning two lurchers is that they are company for each other...

Kept 2 lurchers a couple of times,I always tended to have a favourite that I'd take that would give me most options ,so ideally I'd only keep 1.

Unless the land I ran was bad or they was reckless I'll stick to 1.

As to the cross ...one that's 25 - 27

And will have a go at most stuff

If I could have one it would be a collie bull grey or a beddy bull grey for all round lurcher work !

I got a collie bull grey sort of bred bitch

I'm having a litter out my old bull X bitch to a bull X dog and my idea if pup comes good is put a beddygrey over her in future just ideas nothing set in stone

I've said this for years. All this "can you justify 2 dogs?" nonsense. I like having a couple about me. Makes daytime mooching more fun.

Back to the original question, if I could only keep one dog I would have something like my pup I've got now. Wheaten/collie/bull/grey. Good feet, nose, coat, prey drive through the roof, eager to please, early to enter and should be fast enough for most things.

Iv usually got 3 lurchers around me either on my own or if with the lads il leave one behind which I think their dog will cover and if I didn't have the 3 around I'd miss a fair bit my bull X Bitch was always close by since she retired the amount of stuff that's come running passed me she would of caught but when the other 2 arrive its long gone and usually one is a youngster learning it's trade
