Cmon guys he has got a point he could die at any second he is up in the sky and there's nothing he can do about it ... Cushty try not to think about the fact that any second something could go wrong a

I guess thl was not the best place to get answers that will make you feel more comfortable about being on a bus with wings

There are probably more people wanting to kill you while you drag that caravan around Than there are while your on a plane

Sit at the back of the plane. It's unlikely to reverse into a mountain.

The scariest thing is we actually booked the very first Seats by the f***ing cockpit now I watched a program on channel four not to long ago and they did a big plane crash test in the desert somewhere saying where to sit etc and the seats we f***ing chose happen to be the most dangerous apparently the ones at the back are actually the safest

You're worrying about nothing. They have checks to ensure there is fuel and pilots are competent. Mechanical failures are extremely unlikely.

But not impossible.

And if that doesn't calm your nerves just remember; You're in a giant metal container that weighs 20 tonnes flying a mile high with only a possibly suicidal pilot preventing certain death for you and everyone else on board.

if it came to it,you do at least know the basics of how to land a plane don't you?

What makes me think, is looking at how bad some car drivers are. For example, my mum is an absolutely atrocious driver. She has a 4x4 that she drives like a Tiger Tank, gets too close to the car in front, and has horribly erratic gear changes. She one drove for a few miles on the wrong side of the road, because she thought it was a dual carriageway, and also drove into a ditch full of water. You genuinely feel ill after being in the car with her, and she has had more bumps, scrapes and write-offs than you can imagine. The same as a lorry driver at work, who is on paper, a "professional driver", but just can't get the hang of articulation, and in less than a year, has busted an MOT bay, destroyed another company's electric gates, and drove into a repair bit.

Both of these people, are on paper, "qualified" to drive their vehicles, and have passed the relevant training required to drive their respective vehicles, but still, are absolutely diabolical drivers. There must be pilots who are the same. They've paid their money, sauntered along in their training, got their certificates, rubber stamps and wings, but they can still be crap at what they do. Get two bad pilots together, and there's a serious problem. Like some say, you can't park on the nearest cloud.

I read somewhere there was a 1 in 11 million chance of dying in a plane crash.

As long as there hasn't been 10,999,999 trouble free flights before yours, you should be ok.

think about it Walshie, how many Africans or poor Asians fly regularly?

Or even Westerners and Russians?

By my calculations if you fly twice (there and back) it's about 1\16 it'll end in a crash of some sort, might just be a minor crash landing....might be worse.

Do you really want to take that chance?
