What would you say if a foreigner was naked and hanging off a war memorial for pictures ??? It doesn't matter what we think is right or wrong it's their country and you should have the common decency

Although by our standards it's completely ridiculous, why do people seem to think they can go to foreign countries and behave however they want?   When in Rome... don't piss off the Romans.

So many British people complain that immigrants and visitors don't respects our customs and traditions, yet feel that it's acceptable to do as they please when they visit another country. If you don't

If they went there and was commitinf "a crime" and on purpose then fair enough. Something with zero posibilty and the fact they was no doubt unaware of? Then id think theyd value their reputation with tourists more so after the problems with their flights.

I understand you gotta respect their rules. I suppose the real shock for me is the stupidity of beliving a naked photo can cause an earthquake. Those ones who recently got done for selling drugs for example i have very little sympathy for.

I hope the stupid bitch gets the three months inside.

People should try there best to respect and fit into the culture they have moved to or are visiting. However daft they feel the customs to be.

I have always done this in the many countries I have visited.

As they say "when in Rome, do as the Romans do". (So I hired a car and drove like a f##king maniac !)

If I'm reading it correctly then the locals weren't that bothered about her jumping about in the buff.

It's only when some Malaysian politician linked their bare arse antics to an earthquake they all started getting their knickers in a twist.

So whilst I'm totally for respecting foreign cultures and traditions when visiting other countries in this case it is quite clearly a crock of piss.

To the folk saying jail her, give your bloody heads a shake.

Been up Mt Kinabalu, sabah is a fantastic place and the people would bend over backwards to help you out,a tiny bit of local knowledge and respect goes a long way,she will come through this experience a little wiser.

It takes a lot to piss off Malays in my experience but when you do cross the line God help you! Same with the Thais, a very proud people that will bend over backwards to accomodate you but you better show respect to the things they hold dear or you'll be in trouble quick. Disrespecting their holy sites is probably the only way you'll seriously piss them off and these goons decide to strip off on one of them :icon_eek:
