Whatsapp

Recommended Posts

I know I'm a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to new technology, but one of my mates suggested I downloaded the "whatsapp" app for my phone.

I can send messages (same as a text), receive messages (same as a text) but my texts are free and this uses my data allowance.

Am I missing something or is it exactly the same as texting?

I only use it for sending pictures via my wifi. So obviously it's cheaper than sending them as a normal message.

IPhone has the IMessage thing which is similar, sends texts via the Internet but if you have unlimited texts and a good signal it makes it pointless.

Still treat it as sending a text got 2 mates going to be doing some bird in the new year. Daft twats wouldn't dare talk over texts but for some reason spoke abit over wattsapp and whole phone was checked when one got nicked.

One thing to mention about whatsapp mind, is that photos sent to you are automatically downloaded onto your phone. Which may cause problems if your phone falls into the wrong hands. Just something to be aware of that you may need to keep clearing photos out to avoid difficult conversations

Kik messanger doesn't do this mind but you can still text, send pics, vids etc
