Good Afternoon

Such a lovely day down in Dorset to day , no rain ,no wind but clear blue sky's and cold .

So just after lunch I thought I would have a look at the woodland on one of the permissions

Glad I took the 10 mile drive on such a nice day with beautiful scenery all a round me.

Arrived at the permission with wood pigeon's and pheasants in the fields along with a few rabbits but my mission to day was squirrels , walked about 100 yards into the wood land and was greeted with the site of my first squirrel of the day, with in the next few hours I had shot 5 squirrels and one wood pigeon , but could not retrieve the last one , using 7.9gr AA express in my HW100KT .177 , so all in all had a great afternoon .

Nice shooting pal, especially on the tree rats. There was a mass cull on them here on Anglesey a few years back so they could introduce the reds again so you never see any to shoot but you do get to watch the reds bobbing around while out in the woods looking for sitty trees etc. Keep it up mate.

Good stuff mate.

Do you eat the tree rats ? I keep meaning to try it but just can't bring myself to do it lol

Yes mate I do , taste like between duck and lamb ,depends on what they have been feeding on .

The best tasting ones are the ones which have been feeding on chestnuts , beech nuts and hazel nuts
