moxy 617
If I want one, I'll have one To be honest, I share the same stance with regard to masturbating....Its the location that seems to be my downfall........ Could be a bit compromising with your trolleys around your ankles and old farmer joe catches you in the act. How would you explain your way out of that? Quote Link to post

If I was in a field I would say I had a sudden erection and it would be a shame to waste it, if however I was in Aldi I would say the Self Service counter was very mis-leading.......... 3 Quote Link to post

trenchfoot 4,243
I've shot my fair share over the years with rifle and shotgun. I was out with an old lad, many years ago and within five mins of string out a hare lolloped by. As I brought my gun up to aim he whispered, "you shoot it, you carry it!" I won't make that mistake again! Good sport for dogs, so I'm told ;0) 3 Quote Link to post

reaper1064 285
If I shoot one I know it's going to be eaten, otherwise I leave them be. Keeps the numbers up for next time I want one. 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,589
I have a rare few seen about my permission but, to be honest I leave them be. They aren't in sufficient number to be doing any harm after all and really, I feeling less inclined to shoot anything that isn't doing any real harm to crops. I'm not going soft but, I do feel strongly about seeing healthy numbers of healthy wildlife in my bit of countryside. Unless there is a genuine infestation, I will no longer shoot the odd rabbit or hare anymore. I'm all for for shooting large numbers that threaten crops. Not wiping out what pitiful few there might be pecking on a bit of grass. 3 Quote Link to post
AR177 588
Depends what im asked to do, I don't shoot them if i can help it & I try to persuade my land owners that they are not a problem if they are worried about digging in paddocks etc. but If it needs to be done though then they get shot like everything else Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
I like to keep the Hare numbers low, its pointless me controlling rabbits and moles on the crop land, only for a bunch of tools to run all over it running hares, if they can be seen from the roadside, their gone 1 Quote Link to post
Lab 10,979
You airgun boys aint doing no harm by taking a few for the pot so crack on in my opinion, better than them bieng wounded by a bunch of overseas hunters on a driven hare shoot. If someone was trying to kill me i'd rather they done it with a shotgun than a wee air rifle. Lets not pretend that all air rifle owners are John Wayne. Quote Link to post

I use both and have attended one or two driven hare days when I was younger with 200+ hares bieng shot. Crying shame IMO. Atb Edited July 25, 2013 by fitchet Quote Link to post
ftm 3,357
a good air rifle with the right person behind it will cleanly dispatch a hare from 30 yds -personally I wont shoot a hare, thin on ground on my permission- billy 1 Quote Link to post
