Kit Prices

Never charged for a ferret like to think i help folk giving them what could be a good working ferret with time and effort spent on it , And maybe if circumstances where different they would help me out

Ive never paid for a ferret, And if i bred a litter for own use, the surplus Kits would be free.

Never paid for or sold a ferret...always free to lads who'll graft them  ...but if you turn up to get them and I think you're an idiot...you're going home without them...seems fair eh???

Reluctantly I gave a kit to a pet home 2yrs ago,one of the neighbours daughters, animal crackers, told them any problems bring it straight back.......still see it all the time, getting walked up the street in its harness, must be the most spoiled ferret ever, handles like a dream and lives in the house, apparently its biggest pleasure in life is waiting for the girls dad to come out of the bathroom after his shower....and biting his ankles

i think its only right that responsible breeders charge a fee (no more than a tenner)to people they dont know ,ive bred a litter of kits this year ,a few will be going to friends for nothing ,a few i will keep myself for the coming season . the only reason i would charge strangers ,is a friend of mine advertised some kits for free and the people who came and got them ,SOLD THEM FOR A TENNER EACH .

its the first litter i have bred for years both parents have worked weekly over the winter months, if strangers dont want to pay up to a tenner each then they dont really want them that much ,i would happily pay a fair price for something i really wanted out of tried and tested stock...........jim

Then again he's way too sweet and tame to be a pure eu or eu hybrid. in any event, I couldn't tell the difference in appearance between a dark ferret kit and an eu polecat kit

I dont sell ferrets, but anything under ten pounds does'nt give the buyer the determination to look after it .

Why should he if he can just buy another one for say a fiver.

If he gets fed up with it ,he can just dump it. Charge more and most people will look after them.

Sorry for all the genuine ferreters out there, but we all know there's alot of cowboys out there.

Spot on  I charge a tenner, but when its the boys I know well and see the stock regularly I don't ask for anything.

I've just sold 9 with in two days at 5 each just for food costs and next litter will be ten as they eating a fortune and they get fresh rabbit like said before the price is just to cover food atb mark

why do you keep a hob and the money from the young get it snipped or what ever its called and it will save you having young

Charging for ferrets seems to be the same as folk breeding them it seem's to be youngsters hoping to make a bit of cash , what a eye opener there going to get feeding kits up to twelve weeks never going to make money unless there angora x eu poleys .

Up to 8 weeks surely? then they go to new homes? people I know that sell kits in the London area never seem to be stuck with them for long  and they always fetch about £35 a kit! there is a well known west London pet shop that charges, I kid you not, £200 for 8 week old kits :icon_eek::icon_eek: and £70 for adults.
