DeerhoundLurcherMan 997 Posted March 27, 2013 Report Share Posted March 27, 2013 Not about money....About irresponsible people with potentially dangerous dogs...... anything can be potentially dangerous so do we insure, control and legislate against everything or just the ones the press and politicians finds atractive to them, heres some things that kill more people every year worldwide than dogs do obeisity lightening texting hippo`s airplanes volcano`s sharks falling out of bed (average 450 per year in the usa) bathtubs icicles (100 per year in russia) hot dogs (70 per year) jelly fish Were not talking about hippos...... And having bullmastiffs and staffs loose together, its a wonder they didnt try to kill each other, never mind a human.When we kept both breeds at differnt times you could never take your eye of them, they could kick off very quick. The owner needs locking up, wont bring the poor girl back , but might make (these owners )think twice about keeping dogs in the future, if they (can) have another dog. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

mad al 146 Posted March 27, 2013 Report Share Posted March 27, 2013 well I think it's about time breeders, legit or otherwise, of ALL breeds where held accountable for their actions instead of reaping the rewards and not giving a flying fcuk as to who or where their pups go. Make them pay and be more responsible as well as any prospective owners. Hows that going to work.?.....your giving a pup to someone, its up to them to look after it and raise it correctly, hardly your fault if they turn it into some sort of killing machine. just like a CRB check when you work with vulnerable folk, potential owners could be checked out for any breeder who is serious about the welfare of the pups they breed. This subject is thrashed out endlessly every time something like this happens. As it is now the whole world is full of dogs in rescues and the breeders still keep breeding and blaming the folk they have supplied with the dogs in the first place. That will be the day.....Kennel Club registered breeds like Staffords & Mastiffs on a banned breeds list,it will never happen !............ Never eh Gnash? On Jeremy Vine show Radio 2 today they said over the last 6 years 8 children and 5 adults have been killed by dogs, with the exception of 1 death which involved a jack russel AND a Staffy they were all either Rotties, Staffs, Mastiffs or pit bull crosses. The over all majority of people phoning in wanted either a ban or control on these "dangerous" dogs. Thats the problem with these events other than the tradgic loss of life which is horrific the public demand blood and sometimes they get it..
