They are 28 quid per kilo smoked up here in one of the fish mongers if thats any help .

For some reason its ilegal to fish for eels in Scotland because they are an endangered species in Europe apparantly England and Eire arent in Europe.

i know that elvers are on the endangered list so can not export to china any more .

I really shouldn't have said as ive never tasted them mate and i hate when fussy folk say that. But the look of them and the memories of catching the wriggly buggers when i was young has really put them in a bad light. Maybe i'll try some one day.............

I had barbecued eel once. Nice firm meat that tasted a bit....fishy! I think it's the look of them jellied in their own slime that's offputting, but I'm sure they taste similar,.

Most nutritious fish in the sea an eel, the amount of nutrients in it is way over any other fish including salmon. Very nice poached in milk...

Once you get past the slimey, slippery look of them they taste great Pity I dont see them much in west Wales markets these days.

There about £3.50 a tub on my cousin stall lol! I don't care how they come jellied , stewed , fried. I'll eat em.
