FightTheBan 1,147
When I was about 12 I found a wallet with over 200 quid in it whilst on my paper round(lol), quite rightly my mum made me hand it back it. Week or so later this old buddy came round the house and gave us half of it back. Moraly its the right thing to do. How do you know he is better off than yourself ? He might be far worse off. Give it back, which you probably would irregardless of this thread. FTB
jigsaw 11,902
Topics like this are very usefull, you can clearly see those who have that streak of dishonesty in them, thankfully a minority so far.I found a phone on the road a few years back.I rang a persons no.on it and they put the owner onto me as his no.came up when I rang them.I ended up driving 5 miles to meet the bloke and I hardly got a thank you from him.I dont regret it one bit and the way I look at it that was his problem being an ignorant cnut,.I too am skint badly at the moment but I wouldnt consider for a moment keeping the wallet, you'll have no luck whatsoever if ye do.As said before by most on here, what if yer dog was stolen and someone knew where it was and didnt say,I bet that would cause ruptions on here, well its the same thing. This is someones property too,end this discussion and HAND THE FECKIN WALLET BACK.It doesnt matter if he rewards you or not,it about doing the honest thing which is lacking in society today.Happily though most replying on here have that honourable streak in them, and to that I say GOOD ON YE

PatterJack 11
I cant believe some people have said they would keep it. You can guarentee they would be the first to post on here saying they lost their wallet and some "lowlife scumbag" has nicked off with it even though it had ID in it. Like has been said its a nice feeling returning something back to someone i posted a phone i found on the train back to its owner a few years ago. Because i know if i lost my phone or wallet i would be gutted, more for the inconvenience rather than the loss of money. Also, if i ever did lose my wallet and someone returned it with the money still in it. I would without doubt give them at least half the cash if not all.

scothunter 12,609
He prob telling his kids he cant take them to the cinema or buy them that thing he promised this weekend.or he is f****d next week getting into his work.no cash for shopping or kids dinner money for school, dogs to feed.all that kind of stuff would bother me and play on my mind if i kept it.as i said you found it on a frid.good chance its his weeks wages.or at he very least he has taken it out the bank for a special reason,as most people pay stuff by direct debit or on thier cards. TBH you have done yourself no favours by this thread, and only dragged your own reputation down.even if you came on here and said ive given it back.i think most on here wouldnt believe a word of it.most would have got in touch with the guy within a cpl hours of finding it,and certainly not came on here to ask lads opinions on whether you should keep it or not. R. Docks 154
Another classic THL post: spend it quick its going to a good cause Is this an example of an 'honest' gypsy? This is no joking matter; theft is theft, and anyone who thinks this is anything other than theft should be ashamed of themselves.
