Will the hw97kt stock fit my hw77 and where will I get one ?
-
I have a hw77 which is a good rifle but I know it could be a great rifle and if I get another HW with out tuning it will be the same. I was looking at the Walther thinking it may be smoother out of the box. I like the but have not used the 98.

Hello bauble I think I would like the walther break barrel but the IMP is light and very pointable but will take ages and a lot of traveling to sort out. I am just trying to think it through. The Walther LGV master ultra in .22 was the one I had my eye on, not sure of it's price or where to get it from ? also not sure where it fits in the walther break barrel range. Is your rifle a heavy lump ?

Diana 280 I think, I have seen Diana's in the adverts but not in the flesh. The air king 54 looks like a real big heavy bit of kit but I would like to hear what they shoot like. I was pushed towards a hw before I got my hw77 which I want to get tuned because I am sure I will keep it. I need another rifle to use for when the 77 is away as I don't think it will be a quick turn around. It will do no harm to have more than one. I would like one a bit different to the 77 and thought a break barrel would fit the bill. I was thinking of getting a SFS Imp ordered and then taking the 77 in when the im

In the old army films they used to strip the rifle down, clean it and put it back together in about 30 seconds flat. The good old days LOL. Good luck with it and hope you get it shooting nice again.

I have been looking at some tx 200's at the week end, second hand at the local gun shops. What are the different marks or model changes ?. I notice the safety had a red warning on one but not on the other and the one with the red safety looked newer but both had a bit of faint red rusting on the last 3 inches of the barrel. The bluing looks like a black chrome coating which looks like it would be hard to match in unlike the dull bluing of others that looks like it would be easy to blend in. The rifle was one of two bought for father and son new from this dealer and the son has moved away a

I typed in what is the Rolls Royce of springer air rifles and it came up with Diana 54 airking ?
-
This all sounds like a job for a gunsmith not a tuner but fair play for having a go, just saying don't mean to be offensive.

I was looking at a second hand tx200 on Saturday as a fill in gun so I can get my one sorted but the bluing on air arms looks deep and glossy and the last 3 inches of the barrel had some red rust and that put me off.

I have just sent off for a napier of London kit, it is a spray and pull through kit for air rifles.

Hello Kev I am just a new starter so I have been looking all over the place. There is a thing called free adds site, type in second hand air rifles, infact just google second air rifles for a general look around. Thing I was told about looking second hand is that they may have been messed about by diy super upers so beware. Think about legal limit power. What about your local gun shops ?

Hello and thanks for the feed back. It sounds to me like all the rifles respond well to a full tune and trigger job. Are there any top draw tuners in the north east ? I would like to get SFS to just sort me out but it's a long run from Redcar and he is a very busy man. If you were to just compare tuned rifles only then which would be the the best or on pare the top group, do some respond better to a hand build than others and how far can you go. Is there such a thing as a Rolls Royce break barrel springer ?
-
Is the Walther lgv as good as the hw out of the box. I need a rifle to use if I am putting my hw77 in for tuning because it looks like they take a long time.

What are the best full power uk legal break barrel springers you can buy in the UK ?

True very very true mole iv been saying this for a few years now mate the 97 kt i had got her new and she looked like a air fix model bits of plastic all over the stock and the stock screws where red with rust and she twanged from the start but marksman sorted her for me i would of sent her back but i did not want to wait another two or three weeks for another i get all of my springers tune,d and polished now all of them regardless of make model or cal and if you think a pro sport is nice to shoot out of the box try one thats been tuned and polished it will blow your mind i

Spring magic you just cock the spring and stick the pellet in, how good is that. My mate has borrowed a pre charged rifle and is having all kinds of bother with it. I think I made a good choice going with the good old spring.

It's a great feeling doing the work you love and not many people can say that about their work.

Hello Rick I am sure it will be worth it, are you using a borrowed rifle to keep you going. Did you have to pay the total in advance or a deposit. PM me with the info and I will do the same. Cheers Mike.

Hello Simon I am running down on H&N sport FTT and the gun shop has not got any and it is hard for me to catch it open so I was thinking of planning ahead and getting a stock pile rather than running out and or putting other pellets through the rifle. If I have to put other pellets through will it alter how it shoots with my regular pellets ? I have a Napier spray but I am looking for the full cleaning kit tomorrow night and a cleaning cloth. I have not had the gun soaking wet but it got well damp about 3 nights in a row, I used paper towel when I got back to the van and put a bit of m

Hello Rick I am about to ring Sandwell Field sports to book the HW77 in for custom work and full tune and I will order an Imp, then when the imp is ready to collect I will hand over the 77 at the same time. The imp will be for around the barns and the 77 for Hunting.
-
Yes I am building up to making the call, I should get on with it as I know it will take some time.
-
Cheers, one of the lads at work uses Uttings as his default shop.

I made a dash for the gun shop at Saltburn and got a Napier air gun spray and used it in the man cave, what a stink. I just put a bit on a cloth and the rifle looked much better for it. Is it better to get your pellets local or mail order ?
-
Hello guys I think it is only a mater of time before I get the HW77 tuned because I already know that it is a keeper so may as well spend the money now and get years worth of use out of it. I am thinking about ordering an IMP and when it is ready to collect I could put the 77 in at the same time.

Hello guys you have helped me get to this point but still need tips and help to move forward. We have had a wet spell and the Hw77 has got a bit wet more the a few times, I dry it off afterwards but have been working flat out and have not had a day off when the shops are open so have no proper cleaning gear. How do I strike the balance between looking after the rifle and rapping it up in cotton wool ? I am just learning my way around the farm and working out where it is safe to take a shot and getting used to my 77.
