    Duck feeding

The duck know where the food is you be sure. They will 'duck dive' (sorry) to about 14" so if the corn is in there they will defo come back. I'm hoping you took it on board about having feed on the banks as well. Ok some vermin may get a free meal but not all of it. If you managed to get some potatoes down then they should be starting to rot having been frosted. It's currently 25 degrees where I am so we ain't many ducks around here . LOL. Jok.

Definitely. They would try to land, find out they couldn't and move on to bigger deeper water. Worth a go at breaking away the ice where they would normally alight. I used to use a house brick on a bit of rope lol. Looked a right pillock.jok.
  5. Know what. When I first looked I thought he'd made a folder. What a result that would be. Jok.
  6. Well my friend. What a result from your lad. He's certainly got the talent. And. What an unusual chopping board. Taking good photographs is also one of your talents which really highlights the end result. Good on you and your son. Stand down old man.lol. Jok.
  7. First find a rabbit......then. Jok.
  8. My Honda Blackbird motorcycle has now been sold. Thanks for looking. Jok

Welsh_Red. Something I was told years ago about the acidity in the potatoes causing problems with natural fauna and flora in the pond. The guy who was explaining was adamant that potatoes, which will only really break down during frosts or at least very cold weather, should be piled away from the water. The ducks/geese will find the pile without a problem so no harm done there. Similarly, we would only feed barley into shallow puddles rather than in the main pond. Likewise bananas were always on the banks. When you watch wildfowl freely feeding they tend to do so earlier or just at dusk. On a

Well done. Now you've an idea on numbers using the flash things should go well. Don't forget the best night is a cloudy and windy one. All the best. Jok.

Thinking about it further. You said you'd be back this evening anyway so I assume you have a positive post. Jok.

Mate. Your ducks were long gone . I would guess that had you gone back at about 4/4.30 pm they were zooming in. They aren't daft and any threat would have them airborne. Don't despair you will have your moment. Jok.

    Duck feeding

Get up at 5.00 am ,feed, go to work, get back, feed at 6.00pm, shoot, go to bed , get up at 5.00am and keep the job going. Don't forget the ice is coming so make the most of it lol. You might think me a bit strange, but, if you looked back in time at previous posts, I advocate the feeding of bananas alongside barley and potatoes. Don't put the potatoes in the flight pond as this will cause problems. Bananas are fantastic and back when I originally posted were readily available from our local Supermarket as end of date. ( incidentally this is still the case if you ask properly). As regards bar
  15. Right guys. A bit of an odd ball I know but here goes. I'm looking to 'borrow' some templates as the cost of buying is exhorbetant. I'm doing a favour for a pal who has a house number 10 and 2 horses named buzz and dickie. Needless to say I need these templates. Can anyone help?I'm near Ashby de la Zouch, Leicestershire. Jok.
  16. Philpot. Appreciate the comments. Was trying to help but agree this might not be an option. Jok.
  17. Morning Phill. As Philpot says, this is a shotgun cabinet. As to holding 3 X scoped rifles, I don't rightly know. Size of cabinet is 52"" X 8" and as you can see has 2 keys. At some point this must have been approved so can't see how that would change. As regards cost. The only real problem might be weight as in cost for a courier. I live by Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire so don't know if collection is an option or perhaps a friend travelling this way for work. Anyway, I'd be happy with £25.00 for it. If this is of any use either send me a PM or on here. Jok.
  18. Got a cabinet in my garage Phil. 3 gun but not with a lockable compartment.
  19. We used to have a copper which was like an urn. All the heads went in there and it was always away from the house. Jok.
  20. Well geezers, I've been a bit quiet for a while regarding food . Just thought I'd share a little gem. The allotment, I'll admit has not been the best this year. However, you make the most of what you get. One of the best was my beetroot which did extremely well. Another was the chillis which were under glass. Now, thinking outside the normal I thought what a marriage that could be. I had my usual faggot mix (fry) together with onion, sage, salt and pepper, mixed with breadcrumbs and about 7 chillis and a quite large beetroot all blended. This is, quite literally, a fantastic dish. Whilst it wa
  21. Just looked myself. The range is limitless both in capability and cost. Mine might just be available I reckon. Jok.
  22. Mine has a name Parasene. I'm sure however that there are many available. Jok.
  23. Just a lateral thought. What about a greenhouse heater? I've been pottering in the garage and just spotted mine. I'll admit it's paraffin but I never smell nowt and it does give off fair heat. Like I say just a thought. Jok.

Eh up son. How the heck are you? Getting rid of old stock? I don't think so. Wish to hell I was a bit fitter and I'd be your man. Still needing that cup of coffee. Lol. Jok.
  25. Is it possible? Fallow cross Roe ? Flipping looks that way to me. Jok.
