Don't get a bridge type camera if you are doing sports or wildlife photography unless you've tried the viewfinder and it is OK for you. Many people struggle with the poor quality image, and sometimes there is a slight time lapse.

Used....subaru Forrester V's Subaru Outback ?
Nicepix replied to Phil Lloyd's topic in 4x4's, Quads & ATV's
I had a Forester auto and with Dunlop winter sports tyres on I could get most places on the farms when pigeon shooting and pheasant feeding and it was OK on the road too. I was only getting 26 mpg according to the odo' and I discovered that the reading was about 10% out meaning that I was only getting just less than 24 mpg out of it. That was the only downside. Other than that I loved it. Incidentally, I did 750 miles in 14 hours in it, including the time waiting for and on the Shuttle, in snow at temps down to -25C. When I came across a lorry and the outside lane was virgin snow I just p -
There's a lot to be said for targeting cats of 20lb - 30lb rather than the monsters. For a start you can use normal pike or carp tackle, and there's a lot more of them. A couple of years ago when we lived in a rented cottage bordering the River Vienne I had loads of them around 18lb - 26lb, mainly on Voblex spinners, but one or two came to bait too.

Minolta 7000? That is a blast from the past. I think they only worked in black and white fully working that one, including the flash. i even have all the manuals and bags etc Are you hoping that film will make a comeback like vinyl LPs have?

The genuine Talpex sold by Ratbait are better IMO than the Flatpack claw traps. Never used their tunnel traps, but the last lot of Flatpack traps a friend recently brought back were rubbish compared to the traps they produced in 2013. They have put the prices up recently, and I won't be buying any more.

I've not really targeted them other than a few sessions spinning on a local river in the last hour of daylight and stalking one fish I'd seen habitually coming into a back water I'd been fishing for carp. When spinning I found that the cats had a habit of taking the lure as soon as it hit the water. They weren't keen on chasing, but would ambush it. The best advice I can give is to fish close to the bank especially with water over three foot deep and especially around tree roots. As you will see..........

When I used to use 1000 iso slide film it looked like you were shooting through a hailstorm. Grain the size of golf balls

The Beauty Of Nature, "add Yours"

Found some more hidden away on the computer while searching for something else. I lost hundreds of photos when a computer went t1ts up a few years ago. A wild white poppy, an elephant hawkmoth found near Ryhill Res', loads of fungi from the Derwent Valley - all gone! That'll teach me not to back them up. And a flukey shot my wife didn't realise she had taken......... -
Golf Club, Looking For Cheaper Quote !
Nicepix replied to earth-thrower's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Nicepix, you'll find that all the members are aware anyway. That's the good thing about golf courses, you get that one job and straight away you've given 400+ wealthy people a direct line to your wallet! I have the opposite problem. A dozen or so of my wealthy clients keep trying to get their golf club to hire me. But despite the course being over run with moles they rely on their groundsmen to do mole control. This is it,...ive found a number of clubs, seem to let the 'greenkeepers' plod on,....even though the 'mole damage' , is out of control ? Someone should explain tha -

Does the golf club let you advertise in its publications or on notice boards? Because if I were tendering for a golf course I'd make it conditional that I had an advert on their notice board and got two or three free ads a year in their publicity. -

In the heavier weights, above #7, Jim Teeney lines take some beating. Bullet proof and they have a good range of tapers and tips. For light lines such as #4 when dry fly or nymphing I can really recommend Cortland 444 Sylk. I've had two on my reels for over 8 years and all they need is a clean and dressing every year. I left one unused for two years and when I got around to using it the line had zero memory. Can't recommend it highly enough. Between #4 and #7 I use Cortland 444. Airflo has its place. And that place is in a dustbin

And if he can't be bothered to look back at your previous post and expects you to answer it again for his benefit, he hasn't got the aptitude for business in my opinion. opinions are like arsehole mateAnd there's enough of those on here If you can't be bothered to read my post properly then I feel the same way I was genuinely thankful for the advice I can't stand people who knock others down That was my point If you read my post prope -

Does that clean holes I suppose it could come in handy if you are rodding them I've been using Domestos.

Not just on mole jobs

They look exactly the same when new, but are quite a bit stronger and harder to separate the prongs. Whenever I buy a new type of Putange I put a different coloured piece of electrician's tape on the eye so I can identify them and keep track on what works and what doesn't. After a few months I realised that this batch were still shiny and hadn't any signs of oxidising. They still haven't, eighteen months on. I've been after some more ever since.

With a bit of luck they'll book me in summer when I might be able to make a bigger impression.

Peterhunter86; Keep at it. That last shot of the dove is a cracker. If I can make a suggestion? Just remember that most modern autofocus cameras will set focus on the closest object within the focus zone. So any birds sat in cover will often be out of focus because the camera will set the focus on the twigs in front of the bird. Look through your camera functions and set spot focus. Then aim the central spot at an area of the bird clear of obscuring twigs and gently press the button to take the shot.

It's OK! Dilemma over. The customer has literally just e-mailed to say that the job is off. I don't know if it was the fee or my insistence on wearing of moleskin cod piece that did it.

Nice fish and tactics. Looks cold though. Much the same way as I fish; Google Earth, notebook and then off for a reccy with the plumbing rod, bino's and polaroids. Love to find new places to fish, and over here the 'Canoe / Kayak Hire' places are always worth exploring.

Down Rover! It took me three months to realise that the others were stainless, so I won't be jumping to any conclusions with this batch. They will remain strictly numpty-amateur appraisal only for the time being.

I think I'd better check up on my health insurance before starting work.
