I'm glad. Makes me feel like a beast now that I take drugs! I was going to start smoking a pipe. Not a normal one, one like Sherlock Holmes, but the pipes I was looking were in the £250+ range, and I couldn't justify spending that on something I'd use for about a week then lose somewhere. Interesting stuff Remy, not many people ever spend much time completely alone, must be a tester,lol. Why not make your own pipe? Lump of seasoned cherry off ebay, maybe a ready made stem? few basic tools, good project?

I watched a programme Stephen Fry did travelling round the US, he called at a remote farm near Yellowstone, the couple that ran it hated the wolves because they killed and ate all their dogs, they love a bit of dog apparently? Seen one wild wolf once in Europe, only a smallish thing, like a decent sized collie, it was hunting a cut cornfield for mice/rats early one morning.

Because I have a brain and can think for myself and think that it's wrong that the tabloid media pillory the leader of one of the major UK political parties for not dancing to their tune. Apparently the Sun threatened him that they would do this if he didn't comply with their demands and support The Sun's campaign. The Sun don't have a monopoly on supporting out troops, and Miliband's refusal to dance to their tune might actually show he's got a bit more backbone than the other

Well that's fine, but half the British public can't get their heads round why we would want to set a terrier on a fox or a lurcher on bambi. Different hunts make different folks tick. The only thing I took exception to in this whole thread is people thinking it's right to beat the chap for his personal choice of hunting. You may think he'd be against whaling but if he's owt like me he wouldn't be. LOL. My gripe is with those that would judge the man in question exactly the same way the antis judge us. It's hypocrasy! How do you know it was semi tame? All bow hunted elephants I have seen behave largely the same, they're still wild. And you don't seem to understand I've never mentioned the law once, I'm talking about ethics. You took exception to hunting elephants with a bow for ethical reasons not legal... which I couldn't care about but you felt your ethical reasons are so strong the hunter in question deserves a beating. Now if you equally condemn any form of hunting that doesn't result in instant death then I'd say you're on solid ethical ground but like I have said, most on here wouldn't think twice

Im a lot of things mate, but "deluded" and "fool" aren't any of em nothing i do is legal strictly speaking, i don't own a gun, so care little about the united front these days, never did really tbh. But you think people that hunt for sport, or fun as you put it, should be beaten? Do you not think that that's a foolish statement? This isn't a rabbit or rat is it mate, its 5 tons of our biggest land mammal, 18 months gestation period and a lifespan equal to ours, they were roaming the plains before man, man put their crops in the elephants back yard, not the other way round. This man seems to like his collies mate. No disrespect to your opinion but I've never had a 1st cross collie/grey that I wasn't happy with and I've had one or two in my time. Nice example there mate, and obvious you put work into him,fair play I don't mean to come over as anti collie x at all mate, my current dog is collie based, i probably wouldn't want a lurcher without "some" herding blood in it, but for me half collie is to much, and even with a bit more dilution you still seem to keep the good traits you were after by adding collie in the first place imo?
