Long gone now mate, she was Ed Reid's stuff, atb Trev.

I've not had a pure for years, like you said they have a good nose on them. Here's the mother to the white dog she was more athletic and very game, she only had the one litter before the laws changed. Looking forward to here how you go on, atb.

Your a lucky man it looks a nice spot to leave the nets off when the pup gets older and like the look of your pit, atb
-
One of bigger spots we did a large land fill site. One lad working the bushes and me and a couple of mates stood in our different spots of choice with a runner each hoping he bolts from the cover and comes our way.

good pics and read mate
-
The young dog as done well Gaz only missing 2 out of 8. The few lurchers I have seen run with wheaton in them have been a lot faster than they look, atb for the summer.

Good old days lads when we were young and fearless
-
Never bushed at the back of supermarkets too many cars for the runners but there was a good drain at the back of Asda, right in front of the fire exit door lol
-
They were good spots the river banks and around the land fill sites.

We too did the earths and drains in these areas but I'm talking about the one's that laid up in the cover. I'm not saying they all sat tight, I once saw 5 bolt out of a 4 meter bramble but a good amount did, I couldn't see what was going on in the think cover you could just here them carrying on giving the lurcher time to jump in and finish the job off. Just wondering if any other lads got a few this way and if any one got them this way in the country side.
-
Years back well before the ban we did a lot of bushing foxes around allotments and small holdings around towns. I found that the foxes sat tighter in these places some even faced the busher. I put this down to the town fox getting away with bullying the cats and bin dogs but I could be wrong. Did any one find this and did the lads that worked the open country side find the fox would ever face the busher. Sorry about my pic like said it's along time ago atb Trev.

MK3 for me mate

Not had this problem up here in Yorkshire but bushing is not my main thing. years back we would go down to Hemel Hempstead with the runners to a lad that bushing was his main thing and he had to rest his dogs up, they got a lot of stick around the eyes.

Had a few russells over the years most have been fast through the cover but this bitch that I had when I was a lad in the early 80's was the best catch dog in the cover, she was about 13'' and she could also hold a fox long enough for the lurcher to get there.
-
I love the way that bitch catches the rabbits running down the steep hills, I wish my dogs had this knack
-
Forgot to say I got my money back off the lad but he didn't want the bitch back .

I owned a first cross a few year back a nice looking bitch, she looked more like a 3/4 bred. She was 15 month when I got her so damage could been done from the lad I got her off but it put me off the breed. She could catch rabbits but when ferreting she would catch them then run to the far end of the field munch on it then come back leaving the rabbit at the far end of the field. On the lamp she would hunt up if she missed and she was very ignorant, I didn't have her for long lol.

Hi Mate, I have seen, and love your videos also subscribed. just a question what do you mean by thrown in the towel?? She did 3 good seasons on rabbits doing good numbers day and night 2 to 3 times a week, we was going to have a litter out of her the next time she had a season but then she started to pic and chose her runs, if it looked a bit of hard work she wouldn't run it, it got to the point were if the rabbit didn't get up in front of her she wouldn't run it, she would just stand and watch them run off. Had her checked out and she was fit and well, it was all in her head. Some don't

I think it's because it's nice when like minded folk have got an interest in what you are doing. They ask questions and offer ideas etc. But you often get more negative responses than positive on here, regardless of what you are doing or how you are doing it. This is the nature of the Beast,..t'Internet... It is great to be around like-minded souls,..just as long as they truly are, like-minded and not simply critics....Breeding from seemingly, untested young canines , has always been a contentious subject and in an ideal world, we would all choose to up our odds and try to go for -

That could be a lot of dogs for own use lol the point is he said to others a dog should have 3 to 4 seasons under its belt before breeding. -
