Just taken delivery of these fold up decoys by NRA. I have heard a lot about them but never used them. Have any of you lads used them, if so, whats the verdict.
-
I can only echo what pianoman said. If you buy a quality one they are every bit as accurate as a pcp and offer just as much whollop on fur and feather.

Well...i got a call from one of my permissions that is fairly heavily populated with rabbits this morning and it went something like this...."Hi matthew , when do you think you will be down here next as there are lots of rabbits in all the fields and they are getting perilously close to the vegetable garden. We are going out today so if you can come this afternoon you will be on your own down here and good luck". Now then...im not really an afternoon hunter as its generally the quietest time for bunnies or so i have found but as i wouldnt be able to make it tonight i thought i would give it a

Nice shooting once again mate. Great shot of that woodie in the fork of the tree too.

I can only echo what the lads have said. I had a hatsan springer for about 24 hours then back it went. I swapped it for a far more well known brand of springer but on the slightly cheaper end (I dont want to slate the company as they do excellent pcps) and stuck with it for 6 months and it still wouldnt group with any pellet I showed it, so definately air arms or any of the hw range. You honedtly do get what you pay for. Good look fella

Let me just ammend the last post. They are falcon accuracy plus not express and they are 7.33 grains. Sorry for the error
-
Hey fellas. I have got 2 unopened tins of falcon express in .177 (1000 pellets in total) and a tin of bsa storm in .177 thats had 20 out so almost 500 in that tin. My barrel loves rws superdomes so id like to stick with them but open to any swap offers as they are better going to good use than sitting in my cupboard. Pm me if they are any use to anyone.

It staggers me just how cruel and down right thick and stupid some people are. I dont even think it enters their tiny brains how cruel what they do actually is. Someone needs to catch them in the act on camera and see how funny they find it when they are had by the law for their offences. It really gets my back up. I dare say there are a few of us on here that are not perfect. I know that when i started hunting many moons ago i poached the odd bunny or woody in the next field where i didnt have permission then scambled over the barbed wire to go and fetch it and take it proudly home for the

Spring Or Pcp ? Good Scopes ? Etc Etc
mattwhite replied to eggs's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Nice choice eggs... my mate has the thumbhole version in .177 and having shot it i can vouch for its power and accuracy. You will be very happy with it. Look out bunnies!! -
Another fine bag for the tx!
-
Thanks fellas. The owner of the permission just called to say there are loads all over the place again this morning so i think it may be another trip tonight!!
-
Perfect time of day fella and bloomin good shooting too. Nice to see a lovely dog used for air gunning as well. Roll on tomorrow morning now!
-
Cheers darkie. I wish i had bought one of these last year. After previously owning an unreliable rifle this really is a breath of fresh air knowing that the pellet is going where you are aiming.
-
Well after a monumentally busy weeks work i had one final delivery to do tonight at half 6 and thought i would tie it into a hour or so at my best permission which just so happens to be 2 minutes down the road.(conveniently left it till last so that my other half would agree that it would be a good idea to have a shoot while i was down there) There were a few small groups of rabbits out feeding when i arrived but difficult to get anywhere near while it was light so i had a walk through the wood onto the boundry of the wood and fields and sat tight as i had spooked a few woodies on my way throu

That is looking amazing already before the blueing!! A craftsman at work

Spring Or Pcp ? Good Scopes ? Etc Etc
mattwhite replied to eggs's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
All i would say is the gun alone at my local shop is 375 so with a reasonably good 3-9×40 on it plus mounts (hawk low mounts of mine cost 18.50) that sounds like a good deal. Your right about the weight but it seems to stabilize the rifle and it will make you smile from ear to ear every time you shoot it. I personally think its a good deal. -
Spring Or Pcp ? Good Scopes ? Etc Etc
mattwhite replied to eggs's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Im a little biased but i would go for a tx 200 in either caliber. That should set you back 375.00. To get a scope on it would push you a little over but you will have one heck of a hunting tool. Pellet on pellet with a springer for about 425.00. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with the 77 as they are very similar in a lot of ways. Keep us posted. -
What To Use For Cleaning My Air Riffle?
mattwhite replied to trigger2's topic in General Airgun Discussion
@trigger2 I usually use parker hale on the metalwork but have recently swapped to napier as it isnt quite as greasy but still repels the moisture and coats the metal work nicely....incidentally it smells much better too!! -
Hi there fella. I dont have the .22 but have just purchased a mk 3 in .177. All i can say is amazing. From the tip of the muzzle to the butt pad its quality. The minelli stock is a pleasure to hold and thats the beech version, the cocking action is smooth, its very well balanced, the blueing is incredible, very little recoil, very quiet for a springer (i opted for the full length fully silenced barrel version) and i think its as close to pcp accuracy as you can get with a springer. I cant imagine the .22 will be any different. As for the scope size, that also sounds about right. I have a nikko
-
Im on a nikko sterling 3-9×40 mountmaster at the moment but may go a bit bigger next time.
-
@Darkie69 yes its a .177. Not that i dont like .22 i just like the flater flight path and i agree....i think only a tx in .22 could tempt me from my .177 at the moment. Shot at some targets after work tonight and just cant believe it keeps grouping 5p size at 30 and 40 yards. I need to push out to 50 on the targets now and get the group down tight as 30 and 40 yards.
-
Nice shot there mate. Nice rifle set up too.
-
Let me just ammend that because i dont want to come accross as a pcp hater....far from it.I was shooting my s410 at 50-60 yards with really tight groups. So lets say that up to 45 yards its shooting just as nicely. And thanks again lads.
-
Thank you fellas. Its a start. Dont get me wrong, i like a pcp, i have owned a few nice ones but im sorry to sound like a broken record but i am getting groups as good as any s400 or s410 with superdomes. I can see why some of you lads rave about them.
