  1. yep,i've had a bloody busy week!!
  2. collie,grey x bull,grey wouldn't be a bad choice either. so,i hear.....
  3. haven't even started yet.only got it tonight. i've stripped spring guns before so the spring/piston shouldn;t be a problem.
  4. just bought a webley eclipse as a "knock about" gun but i the recoil is very harsh so i feel a strip and relube etc is in order. anyone know where i can get a step by step strip down guide?(apart from chambers!)its mainly removing the trigger and safety that i need to know about..

    Lamps?

tried the cheap handheld(battery all in one type) yrs ago. not much cop. floodlight rather than spot! and only about half hours worth of light. if you want a cheaper decent lamp, get a clulite.
  6. I take your point Pitindall though on a daytime mooch, usually the first thing spotted is the moocher, unless your dressed like Cammoman in some realtree gimp suit and in heavy cover, us uprights are usualy stood where we ain't best placed to blend in and stand out like sore thumbs! As for the dog, of any colour, that puts up game, it's gonna run it, where and how far you just don't know and on the move in open countryside or in winter cover they will get notice too. I would have no problem choosing a white pup in a litter for any type of work, personal choice but I like white dogs,
  7. everyone is talking about lamping.but what about daytime mooching etc? i've never had a dog that was mainly white but my mate has one and its always the first dog that you spot. .as i said in my first post, its not the quarry that you should worry about seeing you!
  8. i'm suprised you can't buy dogs in realtree yet!!
  9. i don't think it's the prey quarry spotting you a mile off that you have to worry about!!
  10. hows this for daftness....my mother in law had a "stalker" who wouldn't leave her alone, followed her, called her, threatened her and even turned up on her doorstep a few times!!. basically made her life hell. what did the police do? nothing. only if he actually DID something would they be able to act!(there words) its a very sad world when you can get arrested, possibly charged and animals that you care about put down because someone had "reasonable suspicion" you might be hunting. but threaten a human etc and leave proof you have done so(voicemails) and nothing is done til an actual crime is com
  11. i have 2 their full length with a cord running through the lead upto the handle only used them as i only had whippet x what wouldent run with a coller on.. also seen them in a few gun shops .. ps ther a pain when lamping and cost a bit .. . . your dog wouldn't run with a collar on?!

    knife

can't stand opinell's! all my mates use them but i can't get on with them!
  13. why do they do it?!if the dog really has to be killed for whatever reason,a bullet or any other quick way would be better than hanging and starving/choking to death(looks low enough to not break its neck?)

    knife

unfortunately has to be a folder too. pity as i know he does quality stuff!
  15. He has his warrant card with him for that at all times, he thinks your breaking the law, then he can do what he thinks necessary. But yeah, it is strange about the Trespassing with dog on or off a lead. But then a lot make up the wording of such laws as they go along. But remember Trespass is a Civil offence not one which the Police deal with. They only deal with Aggravated or Armed Trespass. But then it depends on what the copper thinks is aggravated or not. But as was said, a written letter of Permission from the landowner means the buck stops where it is. As long as its Rabbits

    knife

just lost my good knife today. gutted. so....need a new one. will be used for general skinning and gutting etc.and not too expensive as i lose them! is the buck bantam any good?
  17. no mate. if he'd tried taking them i wouldn't be on here now.
  18. it was the gamekeeper who had given the permission(with landowners consent)only problem was we only knew the keepers name, not the landowners! so the copper thought we didn't have correct permission. but to let us go on the understanding that if the dogs had been off the leads he would have taken them?seems a bit daft that you can "trespass" with a dog on a slip lead and keep your dog but if its off the lead,it can be taken!?
  19. you dont need to be doing anything a lad up our way had all his dogs taken away because a young lad he had taken out started giving the police false information on every lurcher lad in the area they had no evidence yet his dogs were away for nearly a year being innocent means nothing fecxking hell. i hope the lad got the he deserved!!
  20. got one of 24 and one at 27. anywhere in between those sizes will do for me!
  21. i didn't want to argue with him too much as there was a long eared bunny laid in the hedge not 10 yards from him!! but threatening to take the dogs etc really wound me.
  22. was stopped today on permission by a copper who saw us from the road. when stopped,he asked us what we were doing and we said a bit of rabbiting(we had 3 dogs with us)he asked us if we knew the hunting act as it stated it was illegal to hunt ALL mammals with dogs.... took our names and address's etc and then asked what breed the dogs were. i said saluki, grey and two collie greys.(all dogs were 1/4 bull and i think he knew that and was hoping we'd admit it!)he then asked how my dog had got the fresh'ish scars on his face so i replied that he'd run into a fence a wk before.... his parting shot
  23. ifit isn't multi shot,i might have one for sale very shortly that is....
  24. i think more scaffolding was required for the architecture in the foreground!!
