  1. just be carful with the cover over the barrel as it might trap the damp which will bring on the rust. i would try the plant pot on the front of the lamp mate
  2. good going john that is with factory ammo. just go's to show a little work on a rifle go's along way, my mate shot this with the tikka m595 222 ive got. it didnt like the cheap factory privi ammo i got for it. but that dont matter as i wanted the cases. 19.5 grains of reloader 7,cci br4 primes in ppu cases with 40 grain blizking done a nice job. not the fastest load in the world out of a 18 inch barrel but lovely and accurate. they say accuracy kills not speed alone easy covered by a 5 pence peice. not bad for a old 222 for 325 pound !
  3. good going the lightforce connectors are shite. my mate rewired my lamp and now have the snap connectors on it. no problems since
  4. i would take orange over red any day of the week at centrefire ranges. if your using the hmr then your range will be more limited so red will be more then enough
  5. i agree just use the new batch. no mix ups and use the same brand.
  6. im going to join ngo. a couple of lads i know have gone to these. cheap. good cover. and there head man use to be from basc. from what im told he is the guy that wrote the home office guide lines. so who knows it better then him. im sure if you have a problem that you think is unfair. and he rings on your behalf. who is going to moan at him and state guidelines ! when he wrote them
  7. havent been out for a bit as ive been away in cornwall for a week and and today i was testing loads for the 222. got a lovel load of 40 grain blizking and reloader 7 powder. the 18 inch barrel tikka m595 with ase cqb mod is a joy to shoot. off out tommorrow night with a mate. im going to lamp. but dare say i will get to knock a couple of foxes off with the 243 tikka m595 varmint he has. looking forward to seeing the 58 grain vmax knocking some over
  8. nothing wrong with federal brass mate. yes its fired in your chamber now so all you have to do is neck size it. what i would do tho is buy a casr neck brush and clean out the necks and a primer pocket cleaner to clean the pockets out.
  9. you dont need to reproof it. you only have to do that if your selling it on. some gunsmiths wont do there work inless you have it reproofed yet some do. i guess it depends on there insurance
  10. if its a t3 varmint then go for a m18x1 thread. mike norris is in shropshire and would do it for you
  11. they can post you powder but its a extra 30 pound because of the type of shipping it needs. i would get the rcbs kit but if money is tight why not get a lee press but rcbs dies. as for powder i havent got a 243 but have looked into it and the powders i keep seeing you wouldnt go wrong with are varget n160 h414
  12. the zeiss is the dogs dangles mate. the old model or the new fl glass model. ive got the older model 6x24x56 and in low light and lamping its unreal. i have the 43 mildot ir retical. i wasnt keen on mildot but this come uo at the right price. and now i love it. the mildots are not big and its thin enought to see small varmints at very long range. i hear the ior is very good and well priced. not as much choice of recticals and 40 mm scope tube imo is to big. not all companys make 40mm scope mounts and if they do they will be very dear i hear ior's own mounts are not the best to
  13. just set a target up and check the hold over
  14. depends what you want ? if you want a cheap rifle 222 can be had for a couple of 100 pound the 222 imo has a good class of rifles for sale. ie'''' older model m590 and m595 then there are the older sako's these actions are better then the rifles of today. and when there cheap they are bargains. if you reload then its no trouble. mind saying that ive seen a good number of shops with a good choice of 222 ammo
  15. i have a rake of 22/250 brass you can have. just for postage cost
  16. aup mate ive got 21 sako and ive just found 30 norma. 25 of them are already primed cheers thats a shame mate you cant post primed brass. you would have to decap them. let me no how much you want for the norma and sako
  17. hi mate if you can count out how many of the sako ones yo uhave i will give you a good price for them
  18. hi mate what make is the 222 brass
  19. 17 rem with 25 grain bullets can hit 4000 fps very fast flat. and safe as most of the time the bullets say inside the foxes. good if you shoot over rocky ground. and next to no recoil. if you wanted something with a little less speed and powder. then the 17 rem fireball could be worth a look also
  20. Thats an interesting analogy you make their Kye....the thing that strikes me as ironic about the 3 names you mentioned, all 3 Dempsey,Tyson and Marciano were predominantly sluggers relying on brute force, apart from Marciano the other 2 both came unstuck against technically better fighters at the top level. In other words their brute force, strength and pure violence wasnt enough. This is what im saying about mma,Brock Lesnar has proved that brute force, strength and agility CAN overcome superior technical ability at the highest level, which has been proven does not happen in boxing, particularly
  21. yes ian make sure you get all the crap out the barrel before using the other heads
  22. the guy should state there not his pictures. its misleading to say the least
  23. nice shooting. me and my mate had a sit out on a cut field the other evening. after a muntjac but one wouldtn come out for a clear shot. about 20 mins before we see the back of the munty a fox cub was sat 160 yards away ina patch of open ground in the field befind the one we where in. i should have shot him but didnt want to spook the muntys
  24. they still sell scopes they are re doing the optics section of there site thats all. a cracking company imo one of the best and cheapest around
