  1. superb performance from what i have seen on net and heard. in real terms though brass, ammo etc i would just go for the 22/250
  2. is the 69 ret like the 43 which is mildot but the main lines are see through. if it is then get one mate. not only is it not very busy. at longer range the see through ret makes things much more easier
  3. i have the redding big boss 2 single stage press its good. as it comes with a piece of tube on the bootom of the arm. the spend primers drop into the tube and you empty it when you finished. sometimes though they fly out the ram if you deprime to quick
  4. i have a rpa in 22/250 not the thumbhole one but the interceptor stock. which looks abit bulky is the best stock i have used. you can use it right or lefthanded which is good. it has adjustble cheek peice which i think is very handy if you have a big scope on top. i have a 56 front lens zeiss victory on mine. so the mounts needed to be bit higher then i would have liked to keep it off the barrel. this is where the adjustble cheek peice comes in handy to get your face right on the stock. triggers are superb i had a jewell trigger on my old rifle which many say are the best you can get. but
  5. i use 50 grain blizking with 35.5 grains of varget with cci magnum large rifle primer 2.450 or 50 grain nostler with 39.5 grains of imr4007 ssc and cci standard large rifle primer col 2.450 both fast and deadly accurate. this is in nostler custom brass. i cant find data for your h414 on my sierra suite cd. for a 55 grain bullet but its on there for heavier bullets like 60 grain 69 grain and grain. of course these would be used in fast twist rifles. i did see on the net though for a 555 grain soft point and h414 start load was 36 grains and max load was 39. im betting h414 is abit
  6. im sure one of the lads on the bbs site shot one last year and he put it on a scale back at the farm and it was 32 lb !
  7. say you have 22lr on ticket and you want to swap it for hmr. sell the 22lr send in the details of who you sell it to at the same time as your forms. put down what you want on the forms ie... 17 hmr bolt action rifleand then wack a little note in there saying you have sold the 22lr forwarded the details and tell them you want to swap that slot for the hmr that is a one for one. if its a slot you have but havent filled you want to swap ie... 177 fac air put down what you want on forms and then again add a little note saying you want to swap the 177 fac air slot you havent filled for whatever
  8. well you wont stop the sonic crack. a hmr with out mod on it makes a hell of a noise. your be very surprized how much a mod cuts it down. yes you still get thta snap. but the over all boom is much less
  9. rifle has now gone in px
  10. i wouldnt bother with the cheaper ones mate. get yourself a secondhand leica one. around 200 pound you might think is dear but it will pay in the long run. super accuacy and instant range finding. also the bonus of easy to use at night. the red lcd display will show in the dark. you try reading the number on one of the cheaper ones when the display is black
  11. +1 on the zeiss victory 6x24x56 superb under the lamp so so clear its unreal i keep mine on 12 mag and have shot foxes to 250 yards with it. as for all this talk about adusting the px its a top of the range scope you leave it on 150 yards and from 100 yards to 250 yards you dont have to touch a thing the image is that clear
  12. my winny will see you right west coast. its hasnt any throat or barrel wear. its screwcut, got rings and bases and weaver bases. i have brass for it if you want to reload. or it shoots the factory winchester silvertips and sako softpoints very well. its has the soild h&s varmint stock which would be worth a good chunk of money to buy now. and a 250 pound jewell match trigger. i will be sorry to see it go and its only because the secondhand market is slow at the moment it hasnt. alot of people look at tikka and sako and they are very good. but you look up on the reviews of the winc
  13. yes would be good if you could tag alone with someone that lives close to you. tha has a cf rifle so you can get some gun time in before you apply for fac. it will be hard to get a cf 1st time round IF you tell them you no nothing about bullet guns. they might even ask you to have a mentor for some months
  14. bargain. very good scopes. worth around £500 to £550 at a pushy if its in very good condition. that depends alot on rectical though, zplex as its known is the most popular one which sells the best
  15. got back from gunshop yesterday around 3.30pm in the afternoon. When got a text from dave. he said weather looks good tonight if you and your dad fancy coming over for a bit of rabbit shooting and the odd fox. i said say the time and we will be there so we agree to go out around 7.30. we had a steady drive over in light mist. got there loaded up 4x4 and off we went to a 350 acre fruit farm. drove down bottom track 1st. no moon out and cloudy and light mist but still very light. on way down to bottom track of the farm we popped some rabbits off with the 22lr annie. dave lamping me sh
  16. good shooting me and two mate went out last night. i was lamping and my mates shot a fox each with 243. see 10 foxes and had two shots with two kills. the others will be about for a different night
  17. good write up and shooting guys. i like it when its abit windy. i hate it when its dead still. the foxes pick up on even the most little of noise
  18. great shooting. love the 22/250 round its a cracker
  19. as 222 isnt really going to be used over 250 yards what ever loss in mv wouldnt really matter. ive got a 222 cut to 18 inches. and up to 200 yards its bang on
  20. 1st off you could have some bad batches of ammo. that sthe trouble with rimfire stuff you think its the rifle and sometimes it the ammo. i had a annie hmr and the best ammo i allwasy found in it was federal ammo then hornday red tips. sounds sill but make sure your scope mounts are all tight. and have a little look at the crown on the rifle see if that is ok. it should be as they are resesed on the annie so you cant really knock them. also give the rifle some rounds now if you have really cleaned it
  21. i have the short barrel annie 22lr and i have a logun on mine. it is very good. but to be fair there all about the same i wouldnt worry about it.
  22. the t3 rifles are still very very good and accurate. the older models are sort after because you can find them cheaper and they have good true actions which alot of poeple like to put a custom tube on. the m590 and m595 are short action tikka's the m590 difference to the m595 is only really the loading port its smaller on the m590 so some say makes the action the most stiffer out the two. if yo can find a m595 in 243 and its in good nick get it. my freind has a 20 inch barrel one and its shot a 1 inch 3 shot group at 300 yards. fonding them is ok bu tyou want one that is in good nick.
  23. yes there be good for dear mate thats is what they where made for. the vclue is in the name of them. ive used them in my 22/250 on fox and there deadly. more damage then the bt ammo. i did think at the time if they do this to a fox then surely they would damage deer to much. but these bullet companys no what there doing. i think the heads are made by speer or sierra
