    I am afraid kids will be kids mate, When i was young we always played on the frozen lakes and canals. The same as trainlines building site`s and numerous other place where we should not have been. Seen kids go through the ice, One killed by a train, a mates brother drowned in the canal and more injuries than i can remember, But its what kids do. you can not keep the wrapped up in cotton wool.

    I have been reading up on statistics and the law of average seems to imply that the more little cats i see the more the likelihood of me seeing a big Cat is increased, I can report after spending the best part of 10 minutes observing from my best vantage point (the living room window) i have spotted 7 small cats and 2 dustbin lorries, Will continue the stakeout at first light.

    I think a big cat set my freelander alarm off 3 times last night. It has never been set off at night before so it has to have been a big cat!.

    The amount of Knowledge about wildlife on this forum is astounding, People see the " The Hunting Life" title and think its all about killing animals, But its far from it, Its about a balance to allow wildlife to flourish.

    Well said, And that's where the problems start in organisation who have the responsibility to look after areas, Like the Canal and river Trust, the people they employ have no idea how the decisions they make based on academic work have on the places they are charged with looking after.
