For double hand rods i bought a salmo logic 13.1 for the last few weeks of the salmon season ....very good rod that just wants line all the time .....I have the 15' g loomis roaring river that throws out a huge line and the heavier the fly the better but know a lot of lads that struggle with it but it seems to suit me ....the loop cross is a good rod but for value for money the Shakespeare oracle skandi is awesome for the price ....as for spinning rods they are all the same ...lol

I have hunted ,shot, snared,Lamped, dug, and trapped the immediate ground around this village for many years and have never seen signs of otter on it ....then the night of the worst floods in living memory while coming back from lamping I find on dead on the road at 2am is why I conclude the floods had caused this .....with the utter devastation and sheer magnitude of water I doubt there were many creatures worried about who's territory they were on that night but we're just concerned about getting away from it and surviving . No this otter would not of been staying on this burn there would be n

I would disagree regarding otters and flooding ....our rivers flood more and more these days due to drainage on the grouse moores when I was young the river would rise in a few days then peak and drop back in a few days now it's up and down in 24 hours we will have about 2-3 big waters every year now and we find signs of them away from the river when this happens .....last week we had the huge floods and I picked up a dog otter of the road at 2 am in the middle of a village about 2 miles from the river ...I would imagine he would of been holed up and was washed out and become disorientated ...

I can't get my head around how some lads don't use a collar imo the pluses of using one totally out weigh the negatives I've been running dogs for near 20 years and have never seen or heard of a dog injured due to wearing a collar ...I would of struggled a few times over the years if the dog didn't have a collar on ..the strong stuff reflector collars are a very good piece of kit

We were hit with the worst floods in living memory yesterday The power of the water was frightening and it has left utter devastation in our area A friend of mines house that just renovated there house last year the house was built in the 1930s and has never been flooded Our fishing lodge ...I'm not looking forward to opening this up tomorrow That is the main river on the top left hand side of pic There was a good head of fish up on the spawning reds up the glens this winter but I would imagine they will be all washed out and we will see the effects of this in seasons 201

I have no interest in plummers probably never will ......but it doesn't matter what section you go on these days there is always arguments ....this is a forum so discussion is good even heated discussion when there is disagreements ....but what I have noticed are the lads that are not intelligent enough to hold there own in a heated debate just resort to name calling ...that's seems to be the THL way these days
