He asked for that.......... Any ranting about the wife should begin with a look over your shoulder !

The onus to house, educate and care for refugees would fall on local authorities. The same local authorities who can barely provide proper social care for the elderly and frail, who are struggling to provide enough housing for the poor and vulnerable, who are having to make huge cuts right across their budgets...Cuts imposed on them by central government. Even in wealthy Surrey, the local authority was looking at huge increases to council tax bills, to find an adequate level of social care. Central government can't come up with shiny, new headline grabbing policies, then expect cash-st

The House of Commons voted this bill through, with a comfortable majority, including most of the Opposition. The House of Lords would find itself on very thin ice, if it did not endorse the bill. They are all too aware that they are unelected, and to oppose triggering Article 50, against the will of the elected Commons, would give even more support to calls for their reform, or ultimately, their abolition.

Hungarian Village Wants To Be A White Utopia.....
Blackbriar replied to Blackbriar's topic in General Talk
My mate runs H&S on a building site - I won't say how much, but VERY well paid. Back home, he worked for the electric company for the equivalent of 200 quid a week.... an amount that just about paid his way ! -
As I said, I have it too....And it's not irrational ! The fear isn't caused by the height, it's caused by the fear of falling...very rational, really. I once knew a scaffolder, and told him that I didn't like heights - he suggested to me that "it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop at the bottom !". So, he surmised that you shouldn't be afraid of the height, you should be afraid of the ground !

AT LAST ! Maybe now, we can get the ball rolling ? No, we've got to wait 'til the end of March......

Strictly speaking, that would be Islamophobia !

I said to my wife "How would you like a new fur coat, for Valentine's Day ?" She said "No - I've already got three !" "Well, how about a shiny Ferrari ?" She said "I've got loads of cars." So I said "What about the biggest diamond you've ever seen ?" "I don't wear all the jewellery I've already got." So I said "Why don't you just tell me what you'd like ?" She said "I'd like a divorce....." I said "I wasn't thinking of spending THAT much !"

The strangest one I ever heard of was arachibutyrophobia - "the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth"..... I think there's a 'phobia' for just about anything you care to think of !
-
A true phobia is, by it's nature, "weird" or "odd". A phobia is an irrational fear of an everyday object or situation..... Irrational fear... You might think, as I do, that its strange to be afraid of spiders....but if you live in Australia, for instance, that is a very rational fear ! I'm acrophobic - afraid of heights - but I make sense of it by thinking of it more as "afraid of falling". When you look at it that way, it's not so irrational.

Hungarian Village Wants To Be A White Utopia.....

Hungary went so far as to fence off a large section of their border. Any that got through have been quickly moved on..... That is a perfectly normal response from a country that puts the welfare of it's population first. Sadly us western European countries have lost most of our survival instincts. I put it down to cultural Marxism, it happened so gradually that we never really had a line in the sand moment. I agree, mate. I wasn't criticising the Hungarians - quite the opposite, in fact ! Hungary still has a largely indigenous population, and Viktor Orban and his people want to keep it th -

My mate told me about when his dad (as a lad) first saw a black man in Budapest - an American soldier - just after the war had ended. He pointed at the soldier and shouted "Look ! Monkey !" The soldier said "You can't talk to me like that" And his dad said "Monkey talks !" -

The Hungarians, and the East European generally, are notoriously intolerant of foreigners. My Magyar friend is very fond of telling me that there are very few muslims in Hungary, and even fewer blacks, because they are simply not made welcome ! He once told me, without a hint of a humour that "we don't have many Jews in Hungary.........any more". -
Has it occurred to the inventors that, if you need a gadget to tell you that someone is a boring f***er.... .... you're probably a boring f***er yourself ?

Why not....no harm done if you look the same as them share a similar culture and fully integrateAnd not being a sponge also helps I agree. What about traditions ?Would you leave them behind ? For example, would you force some of your real ales on the Hungarians ? They don't mess about with real ales over there. My Hungarian mate introduced me to Palinka ! Definitely not for the faint hearted ! -

Just a word of warning - you should be suspicious if the Hungarians want to put you on a train, mate ! -
