  1. I see to have the book of The Darwin Awards - "for those who have benefited the human gene pool by removing themselves from it !"....Used to cheer me up no end ! If you need a little pick-me-up, I can walk recommend "The Book of Heroic Failures", which contains gems such as - The Least Successful Hospital Visit In June 2010 Mrs Connie Everett of Kitimat, British Columbia, was taken to hospital after colliding with a moose while driving to visit her sister, Mrs Yvonne Studley, who was in hospital after colliding with a moose.
  2. I whispered down the phone - "I want your breasts, your legs and your thighs." Suddenly, the wife burst in and screamed "Who the f*** are you talking to ?" I said "Nando's love - do you want anything ?"
  3. I agree FF ! I've got a young BeddyWhippet and there's no better sight than seeing him in full flight, doing what he was meant to do !
  4. Press barons. I got the answer almost straight away, but it took me a while to work out HOW the answer is arrived at - and I think that's the important bit of a cryptic ! Insist on = "press" (as in "press for"), prohibition for = "bar on", scurrilous leader = letter "s" (first letter, indicated by the word "leader"). Put them together...... No wonder I'm terrible at crosswords , by your explanation how to solve them your either clever as Fukc or Nuts . . I'm not sure which :) Clever as f***, mate !

  10. Sinister. Nurse = sister, entry = in. Put the two together to make "sinister", the Latin word for "left"....
  11. When I was on a laptop, the little face thingies all clicked up on the menu - now I'm on a tablet, non-starter......
  12. How many letters? You've put a smirking face? Ha I've edited it - should be number 8, but if I put brackets round it, it goes ( for some reason.....
  13. Scrambled eggs??? Well done ! Stumped me for hours, that one. Then it just came in a flash, when I was thinking about something else. Weird how that happens, eh ?
  14. Well, The Jam are one of the best bands this country has ever produced, and the Happy Mondays......aren't !
  15. Surely, your mum or dad teaching you to ride a bike is one of the last remaining rites of passage ? A bonding experience, even ? A basic skill, passed down the generations. 60% of parents now claim to be too busy to teach their kids to ride a bike (!), so many are now engaging professionals - at 20 quid an hour - to get their kids on 2 wheels. Obviously, Cycling Proficiency is important, to learn road safety and negotiating traffic, and that comes later, but paying to learn to balance a bike without stabilisers ? Really ? http://www.thebikestation.org.uk/glasgow/learn/cycle-traini
  16. There does seem to be an increasing number of people who need saving from their own stupidity !
