My Dad was on a cruise & the woman who played Nora Batty was on it as well, he said she was vile , miserable old cow he said .. then the following year Paul Daniels & Debby McGhee was on the ship & he said they was a cracking couple, stood chatting to people for the whole cruise & he posed for photos when folks asked him I had a similar experience with Henry Cooper, a few years ago. I can heartily recommend "Ancient Mariner" and/or "Fatal Passage", both by Ken McGoogan. They are the biographies of Samuel Hearne and John Rae respectively. Both men were early explorers of Northern Canada in the 18th century. Northwest Passage, Hudson's Bay Company and all that...Gripping stuff ! I also enjoyed "Farallon" by Steve K Lloyd. "Shipwreck and survival on the Alaskan shore". Also gripping stuff - lots of fascinating photos, too.

When did gender become something that you can pick and choose ? Surely, it's decided by your 23 pairs of chromosomes ? Either by God or evolution, depending on your belief. I accept that a man can wake up one day and say "I want to call myself a woman" - that is his right in a free country - but why are the rest of us forced to pander to his delusion ? Why must we be forced to call a man "she" ? (And if he insists that he really is a woman, I'd be interested to see what happens if "she" stops the medication !) prob few more like him full of there own egos , but i did find him funny in the program , i dont think he was ever the same, when he had bang in his head. a plank of wood went through his wind screen, and hit him in the head, was when it was we had that them very bad gales, lots of trees etc ripped out the ground . My sister encountered him before his accident, but she said it was a shame that she'll remember him for being rude. He'd bought a new pen, but returned it, saying it was faulty - he swore, shouted and was generally very unpleasant - "Do you know who I am ?" etc......

If I go to someone's house and they have books on show, I can't resist having a look at what they've got. I think you can tell a lot about someone by the type of books they read.

I am clearly NOT black - that can be demonstrated simply by looking at me. Also, I am clearly NOT a woman - demonstrable in the same manner..... So, in my view, if I claim either (or both) of those things, I would be delusional - delusion being "a persistently held false belief". Only these days, I wouldn't be delusional, I would be "self identifying" or "trans"-something or other. Ergo, society is being encouraged to nurture delusional beliefs, for fear of offending the deluded ! The whole f***ing world's gone mad ! Or am I just deluded ?
