Albino Brown Hare

I was wondering the same thing mate, this land used to get hammered by dog lads, and I've never heard of anybody seeing or catching any white hares in the area, maybe it is a gene that comes through after remaining dormant for so many generations, who knows, my guess is there would have been a white hare on this land decades ago, and the gene has come through again to produce this hare, there is a healthy population of hares on this place, and all the rest are the usual sandy, or ginger/red coloured -

My mate mentioned something about white blackbirds the other day, wonder if there is a dormant gene that throws up every now and then ? -

Cheers JD, I don't go anywhere that holds any blue hares, did'nt know the coat colour change was connected to moulting, thought it was something to do with an internal change ?, I remember Omanyra explaining it one time -

Cheers mate, to be honest it's more the rarity, and novelty that has got my attention, there are some far more impressive looking hares on this land, dark ginger red coated and physically stronger looking, I've always thought they were the older ones that have managed to survive for a few seasons Cheers mate, to be honest it's more the rarity, and novelty that has got my attention, there are some far more impressive looking hares on this land, dark ginger red coated and physically stronger looking, I've always thought they were the older ones that have managed to survive for a few season -

Plummer Cross Bedlington Terrier

He belongs to a lad who has just got into the dogs, Had him out for a mouch about with my dogs, he showed some interest in rabbit scent, but did'nt show much interest in entering the gorse or brambles etc, the deer scent had more of an effect on him though, I did'nt know what to expect from a dog of this type, but if I can get the lad and his dog out a few times, and get him doing a bit I'll be happy to see it, I don't know any terriermen, and I work lurchers to edible quarry only, my bitch had'nt long been out of season, and he was clingy with her, so hope he shows a bit more interest to get -

Well I was over the windy land at first light this morning, and got another sighting of the white hare, here's a few pics that I took from about 200 metres away poor images due to the zoom on my camcorder, but I had to take my chance to get some pics, he wasn't hanging about, and I didn't get another sighting, must be my week to see some odd creatures, look at this bad boy lol -

Sounds like you've got a new dumping ground for all your rabbit paunches etc, and a few bagfulls of Japanese Knotweed pieces would soon make an effective barrier between you and them in future
