Start with meeting people who are already ratting, bushing digging, see what their dogs are like, do they suit you or what you want the dog for, see where they got their dogs from, go to the same place or see of the people you meet know of any pups being bred from decent stock It's who you know and who they will know, in the main adverts for pups on web sites or in CMW are from people who are doing it for the money

Don't comdemn the jar, Pataks madras or the balti is good too Simmer the rabbit first but not too much as it goes stringy in the curry if you over do it Theres a basic curry recipe on the Pataks jar and it is really good stuff, it's that good a lot of resturants use it

For Sale Quick Release Terrier Couples
ginga john replied to Strong Stuff's topic in Optics and Night Vision
Recomended are these, I have a couple of sets and have sent a couple of sets off to some other make out wanna be terrier man types who swear by them These save so much messing about with buckles when all you want to do is make sure the Bellman is flashing and let the dog go  -
Petition signed but I think you may find that .22 pistols & .32 pistols are not banned just prohibited from "general use", There are Hunts up and down the country where the terrierman has such a pistol for humane dispatch

I fail to see how pointing out the obvious can be remotely rascist eg; you are a ginger b*****d may be wrong but "I think you are a ginger b*****d" must surely be a matter of opinion, but of course I am not black :boogy:

Its worth what you are prepared to pay How much did you pay??? Well I bought it from my son, he needed money for a car project and if I lent it too him it's all gone, so at least I got the gun And less than it's worth I'm sure I really don't know, its a .22 single shot quite a nice walnut stock and hardly been used, he discovered cars instead !

26,000 cattle tested positive and slaughtered last year, absolute proof that badgers carry bovine TB, it really should be a no brainer But as usual it's a case of accountants running the asylum, the compensation to the farmers doesn't begin to cover their losses in terms of the work it takes to build a herd but it's cheaper for the government to pay the compo rather than suffer the Simple townie folk not voting for the cuddly wuddly badgers Paying farmers is a lot cheaper than paying Charlie Saatchi & co We are in the EU and it would be a good application of EU law to put the badger b

Really I don't seem to recall the Jews flying two airliners into sky scrapers killing thousands of civilian men women and children OR remember a Mr Wiseman on the list of terrorist bombers responsible for murdering civilians on the London underground? Greatest threat to world peace? I must have been on holiday when that happened. The Jews are a lot more intellectual, they run the worlds banks, they have a stranglehold over every economy in the developed world excepting China All of europes imported energy supplies (Oil, Gas and soon to come electricity ) are purchased from companie

help with training timid terrier...
ginga john replied to silentrunner2011's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I have a bitch here that is bred the same way and this one was left in a stable for two years with only dried food thrown on the floor to eat never been anywhere or seen anyone Amazingly the people that owned it still had time to get pups out of it and more than once i'd say Been here for four months or so now and the change has been very slow but it's as good as it's going to get All I did was to ignore it, All of mine ( 3 other terriers ) are in when I'm in and out when I'm out, outside overnight in individual kennels, even when it pissed on the kitchen floor all I did was to put it outs -

Comparing hand made knives
ginga john replied to ginga john's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
The sheath that Kev made was just the job, took a while but got the in the end ! That little HH knife was made around 1986 and I bought it from the fella who had it made, I have spoken to HH via mail and he says he doesn't remember making it but it isn't his style of knife now, he originally made surgical instruments like scalpels, but it has the rare as hens teeth makers mark for HH London England Hence why I suggested that you should mark you blades Matt It is better to keep all of the process in house that way you haven't got different bits flying here and there for finishing and you ca -
more hassle for northern terrier men
ginga john replied to longnancys's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Spaniels are best example as they are constant tail waggers and a good cover dog will ruin a long tail in no time All of my terriers are docked and seem to have no trouble doing the reverse ferret, I have seen a terrier with a full tail ( looked like a flag pole in the wind ) that couldn't fold its tail enough to back out of an earth The result was either a stuck terrier or a terrier that couldn't back off from some very angry quarry, may have been ok in some of the bigger places but in the tight little spots we have here it was an absolute curse for the dog The tail docking debate has been -

Here is another pic of the HH Knife -
Well this has taken me a while but I now have the time for a bit of a write up, earlier this year my eye was caught by a blade that Midnight had made and was for sale, this was cable damascus which for rarity alone was worth a look, I have only ever seen one cable damascus blade before and it was a lot courser that the one Matt had made. So after a few pm's we "shook hands in cyber space" and away we went, the blade would be handled by matt in a bit of buffalo horn and then off to Gaffer for a sheath, time and transport later and the knife arrived and to say that the quality of it was brillia
