  3. la feile padraig...................... To all the irish on here i hope you have a good day with either family or friends or both......... Snap.
  4. Mate to cut a long story short you won't find a consistantly accurate load from factory rounds, If you do reload then why not stay reloading....? factory ammo is mass produced and the degree of care taken to finish off each round simply isn't there, you will get variables, such as seating depth, slight inconsistancy in powder charge, etc all lead to inaccurate rounds, plus what is your defination of accurate, are you happy with 1 inch at 100 yards or do you want it more accurate? snap.

  6. Hi, I'm new to this forum, only found it today, so imagine my surprise when the first post I read is about summat I've been droning on about for years. The absolute futility of these courses. I have hunted deer and wild boar in Germany where not only do you have to have a license for a gun (waffenbesitzkarte), but also a separate hunting license (jagdschein). In order to get a jagdschein a German citizen must undertake a course of study that would make some degree students sweat. The hunter then has to pass various exams and practical tests. None of this comes cheap and as a consequence Germa
  7. They are comming of the market because the supplier has a contract to supply the military, and at this moment in time cannot supply to both markets.. Or so i'm led to believe..... does that ansewer your question..........
  8. The T8 is not strippable, the A-tec is, the a-tec is also slightly narrower than the t8, and better built, the length is roughly the same from memory, And the a-tec also extends the barrel by 6 inches, They are coming of the market As soon as the suppliers have sold out i'm told. however ask if they have the internal baffles in stock before you buy......
  9. A-tec are an excellent mod, A few friends of mine have them and after seeing them in action i've just put my name on one also, I had a T8 and would never touch one again, snap.
  10. welcome mate,i think your english would be btter than our italian............
  11. HAPPY BIRTHDAY M.L.B. have a good day........
  12. It's obvious mate, he has a bigger profit margain on the AGS i bet..... read up on every thing before you go on a spending mission, my tip for the day.......
  13. excellent advice from matty there, if all else fails chck the crown for any slight damage, Also how many rounds has the gun fired has it had a good cleaning, de-coppering....... try this also.....
  14. Any bullet will cause damage to meat if it hits rib, bone etc, two good all rounders for the .243 are the nosler 95g partition, and the 95g sst by hornady, i have also been told the 87 bthp hornady is a good round also,
  15. There is no hard and fast rule to weather it will shoot or not from a factory rifle depends on each gun in question.... my .243 would never stabilise a 100g bullet but my mate would shoot them great both same guns... twist rate etc... Its a good cal. no doubt about it but the one shooting 3/4 inch at 100 i would leave, It should be shooting at least 1/2 inch in the right hands, so test fire if possible, good luck. That's with factory ammo though Snap, seemed OK to me tbh. Will check if I can test it though... Mr L i have seen the ruger .204 shoot 1/2 inch with fact

  18. good on you mate, could your family who you say still live there not drop her or her party a line? snap
  19. Remember to checkthe zero first mate, as if the barrel was touching the stock the zero will have shifted.............
  20. Welcome to THL....... plenty of info on here for you i'd say.........
  21. Agreed martin, line them out for a photo on the next trip out, then it won't look so bad to the non stalkers.......good going though well done..
  22. Mr L. try lifting the turret up and down in the press... It's slack isn't it.... Now picture this, the die is in the turret, the case is in the case holder in the ram, the ram has no free play apart from up and down vertically.... Now when you seat the bullet look very carefully at the turret and see it rise a little to the opposite side that the die beig used is in....... hence not seating the bullet exactly in line....... The turret press is fine for starting of reloading as your only starting out, but if you want to get the best from your ammo you need tools with as little
  23. Are you ing.... Well i thought you may as well learn the right name, cause if you were running about telling people you gotta big boy things could get bad.....
  24. the REDDING BIG BOSS..........not boy...ahum,,,, Is all the press you will ever need....... The lee press When doing larger calibres tends to flex a little throwing accuracy off as concentricity is thrown off.... It will do the job but buy quality once and be done with it..... hornady manuals are excellent as is the lee modern reloading, Abc's of reloading can be bought from amazon.co.uk read as much as possible on what you need to do and understand it...... before setting off reloading by yourself.... If you have someone beside you to show you the ins and outs its wo
  25. Mate it's very easy for someone to say No over the phone, So always go door to door in person, This should be done for two reasons i believe... 1} So that the landowner can see you in person and gauge your character rather than just listening to a voice on the phone...... 2} You can express your wish to hunt on their lands personally, Now if they say NO after a you have explained your intent, Thank them for their tiime leave on good terms and try and leave a contact number If they wish to change their minds..... dress casual but don't turn up in camo gear etc..... image is the fir
