ive been concidering furthering my hunting methods by getting into falconary. would anyone be able to take me out with them to show me the basic ropes or direct me where i can do a course ? i dont want to get my knowledge from books as you cant beat hands on experience & been taught from someone who has the knowledge. richie

got a rapid mk1 and i would never get rid of it. never had a problem with it. i had a look at a few super tens " early models " but they seem like holding a bit of old timber with a splodge of red paint to indicate the safety. to me they come across cheaply made. richie

i learned my distances by when walking i would look ahead and fix on a point and guess how far it was away, then as i was walking nearer i would count how many strides away it was and before i knew it i could guess distances. but now i have a small hand held rangefinder.

i know its each to their own but if i ever had a ferret lay up, i would leave a trap by the last hole i entered it down and block all the others to get the ferret back but i wouldnt leave any food inside just incase it attracted an unwanted visitor to set it off. i would just leave some of my ferrets bedding inside and cover the cage with a bit of old sack to protect it from the weather. luckily enough i have never had a ferret lay up as i always free feed them so they are never hungry and have no need to eat under, but they always kill under ground as i either hear the rabbits screams or see

i use the BSA MAGNUM 240 for close up shooting from the jeep, no problem taking down bunnies at 5 mtrs. for further shots i use the rapid. sometimes i use my tempest. but i prefere the BSA. richie -

i do most of my pest control in the gerrards cross / beaconsfield area and have noticed recently theres been a high number of bunnies with mixy. has anyone else come across this recently and what areas ? i havent seen it for roughly 3 years. richie

Got our Ferret box off ebay - think it's a good one!

thats who i get mine off "theferretboxcompany" there rock solid. only down side the bolt that they hold the strap on with needs turning round so not to have the thread of the bolt inside the box just incase the ferrets catch their eyes on it, so when i got mine i turned the bolts round and cut the excess off. well worth the money. -
