  1. http://www.horsesinthemorning.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/akhal-teke.jpg can't get the pic to show, but this is the same horse a few strides later
  2. Not sure - but there is a breed of horse that is a metallic colour ( I know it sounds like a wind up, but really, there is ) called Akhal Teke

    I Pad's

Mate, I got to have something to occupy myself with while I'm sat about the house, it's either mess with technology or sit wanking myself into oblivion over Countryfile and Farmers Weekly! Farmers Weekly
  4. A pint called " who put the lights out ?" Served in Cornwall ( and other places I guess ) about 15 years ago - my Dad loved it !
  5. Decent coffee - never scrimp on that
  6. Cheeky b*****ds....surprised you didn't do some ninja moves on them... I was worried about the dogs - if they'd have touched them, I'd have done time. Luckily they were after a knackered lawn mower, a sticky non stick saucepan, and some trousers that fit a very short female .... apparently !
  7. Just my opinion... The other nails look fairly long - I find that long nails are more easily damaged when working. Not saying that is what happened with the lost nail, but it doesn't help. Keeping them short with road work ( I go running with mine, their nails are kept short with that) or trimming them regularly, makes it harder for them to be damaged. If it's a damaged nailbed that is producing a weak nail, then either having the nail removed permanently, or the toe totally may help, but front nails/toes are more difficult for the dog to adapt to than back toes.
  8. I think my dogs were safe - nobody would take them for spare/repair let alone anything else ! Sad that they come over here thinking it is going to be a better life, and it isn't - they should try to make something decent of their own country. I'll remember the grease for next time
  9. trained by fuzzy  learnt off you master not bad for a phone pic i can achieve the same with an idiot proof (allegedly) DSLR  I'm just surprised you managed to get a "face" in the pic !
  10. Scary isn't it. I took a truck load of rubbish ( and it was 99% rubbish ) to the local recycle place, and I had hardly got the truck into neutral, let alone stopped and parked, and they had opened the back and were rummaging through it.
  11. Not a great pic, but does show where they got the "long dog" name from !
  12. I let them meet out walking first - on lead to start, then off lead to have a run and a play, with plenty of space for them to get used to each other. Then back home as one group. I don't leave a newbie alone with the others for the first few weeks, they can be separated into different rooms, or into crates. I am careful with flashpoints like feeding, getting ready to go walking etc - so they don't get over excited and end up having a go at each other.
  13. Which toe ? Most are fine after having a toe off, as they compensate pretty well. If it's an outside toe, they can take a while to get the turning sorted, just because they need to rebalance. If its an inside toe, it often takes less time, as it is more a pressure thing, than a turning thing. If that makes sense. Mended broken toes are usually weaker and more prone to arthritis - the pressure put on at speed and in a chase situation can often be painful and stop the dog.
  14. " I would like my alarm clock to be louder, and give me more of a heart attack each morning"... said no one in the history of the world. Ever.

  15. when you start getting to 1/8th this and 1/8th that, it gets a bit meaningless. It's a lurcher - thats what a lurcher is, a mix of various breeds of sighthound and other types of dog, like collie in your dogs case.

    I Pad's

IMHO... ipad - great for emails, reading books, basic internet stuff, videos, being more portable etc but the touch screen can be annoying, and more easy to damage screen laptop ( I have a macbook air ) - keyboard makes typing easier, good for whole internet stuff (office work, spreadsheets etc ) and more robust
  17. Aw, he's a sweetie - bet you are proper proud. Congratulations
  18. I feel sorry for the UK Very true - not the first train, nor the last I suspect !
  19. They had stopped the cane by the time I was at school - so we just got lines for bunking off. Until my Dad found out - then he belted me instead
  20. No way that is kidney ! Maybe they need to get new technical staff, as well as a new chicken supplier !
  21. Had a dark blue buckle close satchel - still got it ! We had a locker at school so didn't have to carry much about with us, so I never grew out of using it. Bunking out of school to go and see Red Rum open a local bookies shop Cross country runs in the winter - if you were in the last 10, you were not in time for the warm water in the showers - a very good incentive to run faster the following week.
