  1. f**k me I never noticed that ! well spotted To the OP,, what the f**k are you breeding them for ??? don`t you reckon there is enough unwanted kits without just breeding for the sake of it ffs ! Give the guy a break!!!!!!! He's already said that he couldn't get a vasectomized hob in his area and didn't know how long they had been in season for. In my opinion he did the right thing. What's to say that these litters are unwanted? they may have homes lined up. and not breeding for the sake of it. All the best with your litters and hope everything works out for you.
  2. Got meself another permission yesterday while out walking the dog. Mrs got talking to a lady with a couple of pure beddies, one thing lead to another and were soon chatting as good friends, then she mentions that she has a few horses. Quick thinking I ask if she had problem with rabbits, "hundreds" she replies. Well, turns out she has 13 acres of paddocks on the outskirts of the local town and a couple of small paddocks a few miles away. Happy days once I start out there.
  3. Hi, Bit like that around me. Loads of people run dogs but very few ferreters. All the best and good luck for the coming season
  4. As mentioned get yourself an OS map of the area, Also pop to your local council office and ask to see the 'Definitive Map' this would be up to date and give you the info required. Had similar problem here but with regards to drive able greenlanes. Unfortunately just because there is public access across someones land they have the right to refuse if so wished. Seems unfair but was given this info by our local rights of way officer. HTH Bri
  5. Had my 300tdi disco for 5 years and given it loads of abuse. Started greenlaning then got into terratagging and entered it into a winch challenge while building our traybacked rangie. Would like to see any other 4x4 stand up to the hammering its had. Yeah its had its faults but nothing too serious. worst was blowing the clutch in a bog, but driven too and from all but that event. Rather worrying about the leaking issues be a bit more concerned about the metal worm, but as long as you can weld and do a bit of simple mechanics then I would say landy over anything. P.s. they don't leak, just
  6. Had her out today for a play around and to see how she was, and all back to normal. Usually do play a little rough with her anyway, as said rolling her onto her back etc etc. Also checked her over again (checked a few days ago) to see if she is coming into season and there is a little swelling there, so could explain it. Cheers for the advise. Bri
  7. She is handled daily but thanks for the advise. I'll work on her more over the summer and she how she goes
  8. Got a question for you peeps on here but waiting for loads of people to slate me and say that i shouldn't be hunting etc. Here goes, Took the ferts out today for a quick mooch on a new permo. Been working them for a couple of months almost every weekend, and had no problems until today. Worked a few holes and came up blank so moved on into some woods. Found a warren with 15 clear holes on a steep hill, but probably missed a few due to the amount of leaves on the ground. Netted up and sent in one of the jills. She disappeared for a while then out bolts bunny followed by the fert. My so
  9. Probably just a bit of residual oil should burn off after a few uses. Wouldn't worry myself as all 2 strokes smoke lol.
  10. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/281572-how-has-this-site-been-a-benifit-to-you/ Think this shows that everyone needs information at some point Thank you. I have plenty of experience with game, I run a small shoot in my home village and have some great gun dogs but this is my first terrier. I'm very interested in working her and learning that's why I joined the forum. It was a genuine question as I simply didn't know the answer. I know their is a good chance that whatever was/wasn't in there has gone but I now have a stealth camera pointing at the hole, so ill fin
  11. Cant understand why everyone is slating this member for asking a 'sensible' question. Isn't the idea of a forum to get information and advise/banter from others with common interests? Has anyone thought of giving the guy a break and answering his question? They may be new to hunting and not have the contacts that others are privileged to. We all started with no knowledge and had to be shown/told how to do what we enjoy. Maybe a pic would help.
  12. Does work lol We had our Tray backed range rover hanging off a tree while in a competition, the front winch decided to not pay out. only way to get her off was to take the weight on the hi-lift as a winch and gently lower her down. Took us about an hour to get her 200yds down the hill though.
  13. Tow bar mounted winches are handy. Having it on the back means you can pull yourself out from where your stuck a pick a better route through. Or a long length of rope. You have mentioned you take a Hi-lift why not use it as a winch?
