It's not about kids that scare easily. It's about the full grown blokes that harbour some romantic notion of football hooliganism when, the truth is, they were bang out of order. Innocent people would get caught up in their crap, people were assaulted, pubs (someones livelihood) would be trashed, cars would be damaged etc - all a knock on effect of someones match day alcohol/drug fueled 'fun'. Late 70,s to mid ,s was my time mate it was an enjoyable few years i used to get bollocked by the older high profile lads for not taken it seriously enough they wanted to run things like an army unit but i was just a young lad having a laugh.......besides which i love my footie too much once they started dishing out banning orders i was out of there it would of killed me to get banned from footie grounds whereas the true hardcore football hoolies didnt care,hence most of them have probably not been in a football ground since ! Yes, My nephew in Nottingham got caught on camera down in Portsmouth, 9 months later he got copped for it, 3 rd time and got himself a 5 year banning order.

Agree with you totally in a sense DM about us poor English fans, like Gnasher said old men or young dreamers thinking they still top of the game, you go over there and try it on and come second don't cry about it, but I will stand by what I said for whats its worth ( nothing actually) decent firms would not have taken on their laces........but young groups and old has beens throwing bottles and chairs are going to get it this time next time and every other time. stop at home and watch it on tv boys get as p1ssed as you like, take it from an old fool ( well not to old) its not worth it.....

An old pal of mine from more years back than I care to remember, was telling me a few months back, he was caught by the police red handed smoking weed they just told him to put it out and smoke it at home, he never even got searched. The police went on to tell him he's not worth the paper work involved in taking him in for it. This guy is in his 50's whether or not they would have had the same attitude with a teenager who knows.

I go back to Hartlepool regular, I think thats where Max is from is he not?
