    The 40 gn .22wmr defo has more energy up to and slightly past 100yds.At the BASC open evening I attended alot of the audience reported the same problem i.e that the hmr was getting a round lodged in the barrel and if a second round was subsequently loaded and fired the magazine would blow out or indeed barrels have exploded!A theory as to cause is the powder in the case is being contaminated by water or oil and failing to burn.The primer detonating is enough to force the bullet into the barrel but no further!Then bang!Same scenario as 12/20 bore mix up!

    I had a Heckler and Koch sem-auto in .22wmr it was mustard!Had a ten shot and two fifteen round mags for it.

    No there isnt, however the police are perfectly entitled to put whatever condition they like on your certificate,and yes it is fecking annoying,BUT demanding,breaching conditions ect is not the way forward,a polite assertive manner will get you a lot further,keep shooting your rifles,keep putting ammo through them and keep asking,presumably you have a mentor who has already signed you off as competent,so do your 12 months and get another letter from him/her stating that in there opinion you are now ready for an open certificate,ask for that,stating that you have satisfied their 12 month probat

    Are you thick' its costing 10 mill of the taxpayers money to bury the old hag while our hospitals are falling apart as are our roads and rail network.     There's nothing in the Home Office guidelines that even require you to have a Mentor.Its just that particular force trying to be clever.It just reinforces the point that you really need to be in one Shooting Organisation or another, to represent you when you get difficulties.It normally just takes a phone call from them and it'd be sorted.Full credit to Hunting Life for offering a good discount on membership of SACS.Join!

    I've been in SACS before and found them easy to deal with.I don't know what the support/Insurance is like if you do get problems but was assured they have the resources to cover it if required,
