  1. :11: :11: you cheeky marra, you only go out every other week on the same farm where you reckon theres hundreds of rabbits and you only catch 10 with 4 dogs,i catch more than that on hard places with hardly any rabbits and 1 dog.you need to grow some balls and run something else apart from lamp shy rabbits and leverrets :11: :11:

  5. charlie c i wasnt on about the barking making enough noise for somebody to hear, but making the quarry in the next field on edge before even getting into it,especially the already nervous species. prior to the dogs second night lamping my mate was letting her mature because when he took her out at 12 months for the first time she was yapping and wouldnt pick up the rabbits, she is a real puppy-ish bitch. problem is it wasnt a yipping it was proper full barking like mad, like you said about your dog opening up as a pup,my coursing bitch did it aswell once, but didnt make a sound on anything after
  6. went out last night for a shine with my mate and his 16 month old beddy, whippet, greyhond cross, only the second time she had bin out on the lamp,as soon as she put the first turn in bark, bark,my mate was devastated, the bitch is 22" and absolutely lightning fast,he had put a lot of time in to her which makes it even worse for him,i think she would make a good rabbiting day dog tho. does anybody run dogs that open up,personally i would never own another one,my very first lurcher did it,but i was only 12 and just started learning the game, although he was game as f**ck and would take aything, its j

    fluids

any greyhound electrolite will do the job,i use liquid lectade its for sheep that are lambing etc, good stuff,i get it from the van man that comes to the locall greyhound track,GOOD AFTER A DAYS COURSING.
  11. awesome, just what you want for a young dog, nice looking too
  12. ive heard of coursing dogs having the jab and never running right again after.only ever heard of bad from these jabs,i would imagine people have had their dogs jabbed and had no problems, personally i would stay well clear.
  13. does anyone know of any good greyhound vets,or back and muscle specialists in s.wales or anywhere near, urgent for bull x with a bad back, thanks
  14. raw eggs must be given in moderation,my bitch got sore red skin once and lost a lot of hair,i wormed her flead her gave her stuff for mites, but cudnt get her right, anyway to cut a long story short,i caught her one day taking a egg from the chicken cot,i stopped her going up there and within two weeks she was back right, when i asked the vet about it he said that the loss of hair was from to much protein, she was probably eating 4 or 5 a day,i thought the chickens wernt laying well :11:

  19. good bag considering it was a bad night.
  20. its on video clips on non hunting related.
  21. just watched the video clip on this site of hyenas v lions put on by ian b,what a brilliant bit of footage, probably the best ive seen of this type and the music fits perfect to it,i recommend everyone to watch it.
  22. i grew up with a half x,good dog on all quarry,if it is your first lurcher i would get a collie x,in my opinion i find them easier to train, but as others has said they can allso be hard work,i know a boy who had a brilliant 3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie,he would catch hares for fun on the lamp, pick up rabbit after rabbit, take fox and deer, then all of a sudden at 3 years of age he turned crazy, attacking sheep, dogs, and he tried to attack its owner who is a big lump of a boy,he wouldnt let him in the run or anything, the dog was put down because the lad had young kids, and the dog couldnt be trusted, but
  23. chilli i havent got a clue who you are.
