  1. Exactly what I meant. I have some permissions in Kent, a mixture of woodland, arable, pasture, and cover crop. Holding rabbit, squirrel, pheasant etc ?
  2. Just wondering if this was an option for gaining some experience?
  3. Cant knock your enthusiasm Ratface, fair play to you
  4. Bit of a long shot, but looking for a picker up for this sat. Very small farm shoot, relaxed friendly atmosphere
  5. I'm a member, but I reckon only 2 people in my area club would really be there if the proverbial hit the fan!
  6. Better to have a couple of likeminded mates you can call if you need them. I'm not convinced the fmwtc is the way forward these days
  7. Whereabouts are you fishing at the mo? They are some strong tides at Dunge! I think you are right though, big tough baits and play the numbers game. I was fishing Fri night, and 15 mins after I left, the lad next to me pulled out a 5 and a half pounder
  8. Dungeness, Hythe, Bexhill, and probably Eastbourne. Lots of people say use the livebait rig, but never try it themselves or have any success. Thought perhaps a squid lug wrap, or a pennel rig
  9. Down in Kent trying to pick up a codling off the beach has been damn near impossible, because of the vast numbers of whiting. Any suggestions as to how to avoid the little gits, and connect with the cod?
  10. If you keep them over the winter, you will have to buy in some hay and nuts for them
  11. Local paper, farming ads, preloved. Weaned lambs available late summer onward
  12. Best for flavour so far, was either poll Dorset or Southdown cross Wiltshire horn
  13. Id go for mutton any day of the week. Had a ewe done, and she was about 2 and a half, so quite young mutton. Best flavour I have ever tasted, and super tender when roasted long and slow. She actually ate more like beef, With some lovely marbling running through the meat. Try it, you wont be disappointed
  14. Anyone recommend a goose guide for a flight or two in southern Scotland?
  15. I shal choose my terminology more wisely in future
  16. I'm sorry, didn't mean to offend the site pedants'
  17. Having a dog that gets shoved and bullied by the gear, never keeping it in one spot surely defeats the whole object of having a digging terrier. Is this why there seems to be a lot of bull Russells about theses days
  18. Old waxed leggings, and wax jacket suit my area. Loads of blackthorn, hawthorn, and bramble
  19. never a truer word spoken. I know 1 or 2 terrier men who have had some incredible digs without taking their dog off a lead!
  20. Lord save us, an anti's dream thread
  21. Looking at the type of threads appearing in the earthdog/working terrier section, you may as well rename it Facebook
