  1. Theres still a few of us Anglo Saxons left, if you look hard enough!
  2. Bmx with mag wheels, and bacon with slices of bone in!
  3. Oh I forgot to say village pub, village shop and village bobby. Also, when was the last time you saw an old lady riding a bike? Grippa stempson and mr Bronson!
  4. Was having a chat with a mate recently, and we started making a list of things that were so common growing up as a kid in the 80s, but just don't see anymore. 1 White dog poo (touch it and you go blind!). 2 Milk floats. 3 porno mags left in laybys/hedges (every teenage lads right!). 4 a tramp. 5 milk bottles with the foil tops pecked by tits. And 6 workman wearing a shirt and tie! Any other suggestions?
  5. you can buy tubs of dry cure. You rub it well into the dry belly, seal it up in a plastic bag, and leave it to cure in the bottom of the fridge. My first lot were too fatty. Over feeding, and winter weather, rooky mistake! Try Middle whites, fantastic pork, and early finishers
  6. Does any one on here keep a few sheep? I have a few ewes, and theres nothing like a long slow cooked shoulder of your own hogget!
  7. If you have a spare bit of rough ground you can rent or borrow, def try keeping a couple of weaners. Get them at 2 months, and they are ready to go from 5-6 months onward. You can top up their food with windfall fruit and old veg out the garden. Pork to die for and REAL crackling! And if you fancy a laugh and a few beers to help creativity, have a go at making sausages
  8. Its interesting to hear how you all got going. I starting bird watching as a kid, then fishing, and a little air rifle shooting. The fire inside to be working dogs grew, and as I wasn't allowed to have a dog as a lad, its only now 20 years later I have the opportunity! I aint turning back now
  9. Being the only member of my family with an interest in fieldsports, its a steep and lengthy learning curve starting from scratch. Got me to wondering, how did you seasoned terriermen get started? Were you born into it, or came to love it later in life?
  10. Thanks matey, got a couple of tiddlers, so looks like a good place. Nice idea with the area, down there for dancing!
  11. MORNIN! Looking at spending a few nights with the family camping in the south downs this summer. Was the site any good sir, one to recommend?
  12. Nice photos. They making turning the ewes over look a doddle. Hoping to learn how to shear my lot myself next year!
  13. Not suggesting castrating a dog, just wondered if anyone made a worker from a done dog, or had one that continued to work well after being neutered for medical reasons?
  14. Does being entire or unspade make a dog a better worker, or is it they are kept that way to continue good working lines?
  15. My apologies gents, of course I should have made it clear, that I was only asking with the protection of young game birds in mind
  16. Evenin all, was given some permission today, small but crawling with bunnies. I have an old but solid break barrel 22 air rifle that I can use. Going to fit a new scope, but as I intend to go for a head shot, what sort of range is a safe humane distance? I know its a simple ques, but im a novice, and prob be using round head pellets. Many thanks all
  17. I suppose if a fox is taking lambs, then something has to be done
  18. If you don't ask, you don't learn. Didn't say I wanted to.
  19. Im back! Basic question folks, is it still viable digging during the summer early autumn months, or a no-no? Thanks all
  20. People that say "like" every other word, and all the americanisms that people use. Apparently KIds all go to "High Schools" now, not secondry!
  21. I have a brand new still boxed deben mk3 locator and collar set, with spare pack of batteries. Its the 16ft model, and an unused gift if anyone is interested?
