  1. What you've never read the manual Jasper? lol First thing I did when we got ours... honest! With our old Maverick we had to stop it to put it in 4wd, then when taking it out we had to drive a few foot in the opposite direction to get it back to normal 2wd. Malc used to do it with the Nav... I didn't think you needed to, so read up on it one night in front of the fire, glass of wine in one hand, Navara manual in the other pmsl It certianly makes life easier being able to switch between the two whilst still moving. Shell
  2. Looks like a good time was had! Pups looking well! shell
  3. You could fit all that in caterpillar... easy. Am I right correct in thinking the Navara is the biggest of the pick ups? Sure I've read that somewhere that it's just a fraction wider and longer than another makes equivalent (might be wrong though!) Ours is a crew cab, haven't got the back fitted out with anything. We just use the back to transport the dogs about. But we have had 2 lurchers, 3 terriers, a buggy, spades etc and a couple of boxes full of stuff in the back when we went away. There's loads of room. A friend of ours put a false floor in his, sat just above the height of
  4. We've got a Navara, on a 01 plate. Had it 3 years and not had anything major go wrong on it. Love it, great to drive for such a big lump! Would recommend good tyres tho, stop the back end sliding in damp/greasy conditions. Fuel wise... re reckon we get about 25 - 30mpg depending on how /where it's driven. Shell
  5. No probs Bosun... As our mate said, you've just got to keep at them, work them and work them, understand their limitations, not get narked with them. Reading your posts on Ox, I never for one minute thought it would stop you working him, I got the impression from your posts it wasn't going to get in your way, you're just after some support in him being able to adjust - if you see what I mean. He will, might just take a bit of time... for both of you. As long as you get plenty of sport out of him, and he tries his hardest, does it bloody matter!!! He's not a machine... he's your mate!
  6. Hi Bosun11 Hope Ox is making a good, steady, recovery from the op. Not good news having to lose the eye... but... I was going to post prior to reading this just now but didnt' get round to it. The lad that's got the father to my pup Reeba (pup? she's nearly 2!!!) has a bitch that is half sister to mine, she had to have an eye removed (thorn in the eye). She was about 18 month when it happened. He works her, regardless of only having one eye. He's to be a bit more selective over what runs she has though, for obvious reasons, as she's better on whichever side she has her sight.
  7. A couple of drops of cod liver oil in its feed might help, a couple of times a week. Don't over do it though, as we've found too much oil in their feed can make them a bit loose. shell
  8. Excellent news! Chuffed to bits for you and your lad! He must be made up! Shell
  9. Few of mine from this aft. Snow was crap tho... couldn't build a snowman with it. Dogs had fun tho! Lurchers arsing about Reeba catching snowballs Hope My favourite... Glory the snow dog Shell
  10. Lovely! Bring back some memories of walking the beagles out in the snow! Shell
  11. Cheers Ian! JPT - only £3 in the market... I'll get you one if you want Neal... as long as you get him out there with you... he'll enjoy it! Nims always been interested... if she can't go out she's always to look at the dead things malc brings home. One of my fave photos of her when she was 13 months old All the best, shell
  12. Paid about £300 for ours, fitted. But we had to wait about 2 months for it. Got it from Lindley Pates near Clitheroe. Had to adapt the back recently so that it over hangs the tail gate and can now be locked. But annoying that the Navara doesn't have a lockable tail gate! Shell
  13. Thanks guys! claybusers... you've got to have a hint of pink in there, wouldn't be girly otherwise!!! lol shell
  14. Thanks guys! She's a little gem (on a good day lol).
  15. Went out on some permission this morning with Malc and Nim (now 3 and a half). Nim was mega excited at coming out and helping daddy catch rabbits. Couple of pics of her... Nims spade... she had to carry it Dogs mark a rabbit under here... just a touch away Nim tries to push the rock away... And retreives the ferret and gets the rabbit All in all, not a bad morning out for a 3 yr old. Shell
  16. Sorry to hear that. Never an easy decision to have to make, but you're doing the right thing for her. Let her have her birthday and spoil her rotten, give her what she wants and treat her like a queen. Take care, All the best, Shell
  17. Sorry to hear your news. Like others have said, he went doing what he loved. RIP Tariq shell
  18. RIP little man. I can't even begin to imagine how the family must be feeling, or what they are going through. Thinking of them all. Shell x
  19. My old lurcher had something very similar when she was 11 weeks old. She spent a week in the vets on a drip, and it was touch and go at times, but she pulled through. The vets weren't sure if it was parvo or a gastro type bug. Atol went down hill really quickly, it was over night. She was fine when she went to bed that night, starting being sick and with the trots during the night, and was in the vets on a drip by mid morning. It's scary how quick it happens. Hope your Skye is ok. Shell
  20. Looking really good! Credit to you! Shell
