Do what you like Mossy with your mutts. As for my advice being bollocks I think you'll find a radio or another continuous noise like a clock does settle some dogs down and as for pups giving them something in the pen with them to keep them occupied does work. I was only trying to help the fella out, a bit more input than you give him.
-
That's enough for one evening lads ?
-
Aye it was hilarious. Pups obviously got seperation issues and you're best input is to sink the boot in it! whether it was meant as a joke or not it's hardly helping the fella, at least I tried to give him some tips that have worked for me in the past and others, but I suppose that's me just being a dickhead

That'll really help with the bonding process and seperation issues. Sticking your boot in it. Wankers like you shouldn't be allowed to keep dogs.Try keeping the radio on low where it sleeps or a ticking clock or watch Close to where it sleeps. I had the same issue a few months ago, so I feel your pain. I threw one of my old work boots into the box with the pup and that solved the 24/7 barking and howling, not sure why it worked but it did, and plenty of bones to keep it occupied takes its mind of things. Walking wasn't helping with my situation it wasn't crying due to lack of exercise, some do

Fm should have said lad, my mate cut down on dogs he's too many few weeks back I rehomed two workers for him, give them away to lads under the circumstances that they don't abuse them and if they don't suit they come back. Actually organised to go out at new year with a few of them and we'd 4 good digs one was to a bitch we gifted the fella she worked well too. -

Started off slow enough wasn't getting out as much as I'd liked to have due to changing jobs but have been out plenty from December onwards . Dug 2 yesterday so I'm away for a feed tonight and a few pints. Atb -
Good going especially for a young dog, best of luck with him.

What's it got to do with what I was wearing? ? Yes my username was MUDD DOG before my account was disabled and I was no longer able to logon, that was 4 years ago. Crime of the century, me bad haha. Atb

Wind and rain puts them to ground more, I was out the other day and it was very mild for this time of year and we still got a good dog fox to ground.
-
Sounds like a good day out, nice one lads. Fat man clear your inbox ?

General, is that the chocolate terrier you's used recently ?That's him Neil, I took that photo out exercising them back in June.

Pic taken a while back.

Let me know what you think of it mate I'm ordering mine at the end of the week it looks like it'll be a good read.
-
Lovely looking dogs Trap, you don't have to look at them twice to know they're bred from the right stuff. They are Irish working Wheaten terriers. They don't change with time when the blood is kept tight. Credit to the men that own them, I seen that programme on TG4 last week and the Wheatens were not in the same league looks wise, compared to the type I've seen work. Them dogs in the pics look the same as the dogs 50/60 years ago.

I genuinely never seen your post until I have read it there just now. By the way I haven't a clue who you are so I don't know what you heard me say about whoever if were giving it truthfully here...it was 2012 I personally only knew 4 people at that meet that's the folk I travelled down with the rest id only ever spoke to on fone or internet, I had at that time definitely never dug with any of them or yourself im quite sure or even really talked lines with? But it will be easy for you to know me because I presented myself forward and sat at a table and persevered with some other good men wh

Think we misunderstood each other mate, noise doesn't bother me, thought that's what you was getting at, was just saying it can be turned down, atbNo worries mate it wasn't aimed at you I just was picking up on what you'd mentioned about the noise, each to there own some lads like the red box because it's quiet. I prefer having the sound atb
-
We are out in the morning D,couple of digs then home for the grub and then to the pub for a pint or 2 of the black stuff,we have a hard auld life, lol.Have a good one mate, I'll be out on Tuesday keep me posted on how you's get on atb.
-
Can't understand why lads worry about volume the sound of digging is a lot louder in the still atmosphere of the countryside, if the volumes an issue put an earphone port into the box and that makes it mute same as the red box but why bother, the volume helps when you set the box down on a mark you've got and then there's a run around it's the first indication you get if the dogs at any depth that you wouldn't hear.
-
Used the Deben long range one day out with a lad that had it. We had a 9ft dig and another 2 handy 2/3ft digs with it, worked no problem I called it space invaders with the noise it made lol. But once you get a Bellman there's no comparison imo.

They're a good bit of kit alright RH my mates the barryvox pulse I find it slightly more accurate but either way the technology has came a long way from the old knocker boxes
-
That's me sorted, out with the old in with the new. Don't like the red box so wanted the dsp sport instead. The old peips served me well same as the battery collar.
