  1. Hang on a minute, didn't you only get your first ever ferrets a week or so ago? Have they been near a rabbit hole yet? As for the ferret biting it will either stop or it won't. A nip as you pick them up whilst out in the field because their adrenaline is going or youve startled them is one thing but actually screaming and spitting is a bit worse. I had a big silver hob who was the same, like a kitten at home but a wild animal after the first couple of holes, my mate saved him from being pts thinking he was a bit of a ferret whisperer but he just stayed the same although you could
  2. Train him to come back and not to chase stock and then take him out in the country and let him off the lead, he'll learn to find stuff.
  3. If I wanted to listen to an arsehole i'd fart
  4. I've seen a few places whilst travelling around there on the main roads that are heaving with rabbits, round industrial estates I think. Couldn't tell you exactly where though. Get of your arse and go knocking for permission like everyone else has to.
  5. Me and a mate got 32 out of a 10 hole burrow right in the middle of a nice grass paddock, we got 8 out of a stop end which is a personal best I doubt i'll beat. Bolted cats, rats, stoats, mice and shellducks too and dug to cats and hedgehogs which was a shock when you grab it thinking its a rabbit the spikey little shit
  6. Heres my young dog, untried as of yet but he's ready to go. A mate of mines got an older relative thats doing really well too, fingers crossed mine does the job I need to get some more recent pictures of him. Cheers, Gnipper

  8. Is this another sneak peek from the calendar?
  9. I've had loads of stuff happen that hurts over the years but one I remember was when I was about 5 getting a seater off my older brother and my heel went into the back wheel which ripped my trainer in half and my heel wasn't much better. My brother would only have been 10 or 11 but he carried me all the way home Another one was when we were trying to use a camping stove rack with sprung legs as a book shelf and my older brother says 'hold that a minute' I was only a little kid and the fecker snapped shut right on my middle finger nail which then proceeded to float off on the blood The lis
  10. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...=125232&hl= I rest my case
  11. It was down a rabbit hole, those of us who actually hunt allow their ferrets to enter holes and do what comes naturally to them. As I said I wouldn't knowingly enter a ferret to a cat, sometimes in the countryside ferrets come up against various critters which reside in rabbit holes, i've dug to hedgehogs before and bolted stoats, rats, shellducks and mice never bolted a fox but plenty of people have along with feral cats too. My mate was pleased to have killed it, he helps out with the keepering on the shoot and its one less predator on the ground. You say that ferrets kill slowly (is this fr
  12. And please remember not to leave any dog unattended with a small child s pet hamster too eh Rainmaker
  13. Don't worry these are truly feral, I have a couple of places where there is quite a few of them. As for feeding them to ferrets I wouldn't risk it with ferrets being so susceptable to cat flu and with these cats not being innoculated its likely they could be carrying it. I wouldn't intentionally put a ferret to ground on one either although I think old Stumpy would love another tangle with one Gnipper
  14. Who said anyting about it being a pet cat? Its a horrible feral fecker in the middle of a shoot and they get killed regularly the same as any other vermin that its legal to control. They breed like rats and kill indiscriminately and are only out there doing this damage due to pet owners who don't bother to get them neutered (you know they type, dead against killing things but don't mind their cats killing hundreds of native creatures) and end up dumping the kittens and mother because they can't be arsed with them. Then we end up with colonies of the horrible sods which in a rural environment d
