  1. These are some of the youngest chicks, all 5 have hatched now though and the hens feeding them well so far. This is my eldest mule chick. I'll try and get some pics of my canaries this week. Cheers, Gnipper
  2. Cheers for that, similar build to ours but ours has the Brittany colouring.
  3. Any chance you can send me the pic of the whippetxbrittany? My missus has a Brittany x whippet greyhound pup so just interested what yours turned out like tbh. Cheers, gnipper
  4. Sounds like the whippet I had, it wasn't good if you were out somewhere a bit hot and the dog decides its off hunting. A dog that can be called off would be handy imo too, like a terrier that can be called out but if you don't call it will stay till dug to.
  5. The fifexlinnet eggs are hatching
  6. Some cracking birds there mate
  7. Can you not get split plastic leg rings? Be a bit easier.
  8. My hen who had the first round of young has layed her first egg to the linnet and he's been at her like a rabbit on viagra so hopefully their full. I've not candled the fifes 5 eggs to him but they should hatch this weekend I think if their gonna. Goldie still doing nowt
  9. Fertility hasn't been a problem so far this year, I've binned 4 eggs but I knew they would be clear as the goldie cock wasn't ready and I've had 3 that didn't hatch out of 12 eggs. I've got a fife sat on 5 linnet mule eggs that I haven't candled yet. Couple more yet to lay.
  10. My first ever mule has hatched, he's filled 5 eggs with the fife too and is now scuttling the hen with the oldest chicks senseless
  11. I think my mules should be hatching tomorrow, the hen was having a look under herself before so fingers crossed. I've only binned 4 eggs so far but I knew they would be clear, that hen is back in with the goldie and has built up again today. He seems a bit keener now so I hope he fills em this time. Bring on the colour food and song training
  12. im not going to bother putting the mesh in the ground got a dog chained up next to it so should keep unwanted visitors at bay, think your right about netting over the top,il get some pea net to throw over the top as the stig suggested cheers The hens will scrat away at the bottom of the mesh aswell mate leading to possible escapees, if you dont want to dig it in lay a ft flat on the floor and peg it down with tent pegs or a bit of fence wire bent into a U
  13. The lad on the left looks excited about his tea
  14. I've not seen it but I thought I was gonna get one with my first round because the linnet and canary had a bash, even one of my mules had a dabble on her
  15. If your ever travelling up here mate I'd swap you a. Goldie mule and linnet mule for a stag
  16. The goldie had a bit of material in his mouth and wiggling his arse at a dimorphic hen a minute ago so fingers crossed
  17. For the avatar pic I think its the direct link code you need not the IMG code.
  18. I was quite happy doing the tiling in my nice dry house till you phoned me, she ended up in that puddle too
  19. Where abouts are you mate? Id have him to keep the kids away from my hens
  20. Are the ferrets in season? They seem to lose a bit of interest in the job when they are.
  21. Was the parents to the pup meant to have been first crosses as I wouldn't have thought a collie whippet would make 23 inch?
  22. Dogs can hold grudges and also the worst for fighting I've seen have been bitches, once they start theres no stopping them. Dogs will pack it in easier and bitches are evil.
  23. Will the dog be able to get to ground easily if you get him beefed up like a roid head at the front. If their exercised and fit i wouldn't worry about it.
