  5. Anyone on here keep and work thief pouters? I'm thinking of getting a pair to try and catch up the stray birds round here but just interested in how you actually train them? Is it just a case of letting a cock out and he brings a hen back and likewise with the hens or is there more to it? Does it ever back fire and your doo turns feral? Cheers, gnipper
  6. If you look on YouTube there's loads of vids showing how he does some tricks. I still think he's bloody good though.

  14. Sorry Mark I've only just seen your post, there's 11 there now and they are kitting together quite well. There's a couple of quite new birds amongst them but they've been accepted quite quickly and are flying well. I'll try them later at night.
  15. I was thinking of getting some and flying them with them just till going higher becomes habit rather than performing for the whole village above all their houses
  16. fly them at 24 hour feeding' thats feed, at lets say' 8 to night and fly to mor at 8, see how that goes, and if there flying of like you say'' well theres to much food in them, remember its through the belly you train rollers, Their on a 24hr cycle at the moment mate but at about 5 pm. As for feed their on a spoonful and there's no way they would fly an hour on that amount which is what I've read young birds should be doing but once the buggers decide their landing there's no stopping them? Would a splash of high protein feed give them a boost or make em fly off?
  17. You need to get fantails or garden doves and lock them in for a couple of week mate.
  18. There's 11 in the kit at the mo and they seem quite happy doing laps of the town. When I had them on a wheat only diet it made no difference either.
  19. Anyone got any tips for getting my rollers flying higher and for longer? Is it a feed problem or a training problem? I'm flying them every day at the mo to get them kitting and feeding wheat and dari to the quantity everyone recommends so would keeping them in for a day or so give them the kick up the arse they need or do they need a boost of higher protein? I fed them more this week to see if it made a difference and they buggered off for about half an hour.
  20. I could feed the family twatting lost racers and woodies off mine and next doors roof there's tons of em.
