What about the dog ?. Surely they deserve the down time of the summer .my dogs do enough RABBITING during the winter to deserve a rest. it's too hot and too dry to ask a dog to push it self to the limit. why run the risk of injury especially to a young dog it's so easy to cause lasting damage to an underdeveloped pup
If i just take my dogs for a stroll at this time of year there panting like good uns.
as for keeping the dogs fit there are many less damaging ways. lure machines, a bike, a pair of trainers or even a tread mill.
