  1. pathetic is all i can say to you do we have to be in full camo and face paint to go out with the dogs Youre calling him pathetic!! Those c**ts in the article are pathetic and are everything thats wrong with this game.
  2. Ive got a young bitch bred this way, I had her with the same idea as trunk really. Thought the collie might add a little more sense, to be fair its early days yet but id say shes very similar to the straight bull grey pups ive seen in temperament. Everything is 100 mile an hour flat out.
  3. There's some very firey greyhounds about, the bull is put in so they stick beyond the first grab and shake.
  4. Cheers lee, just off out with her and the pack now
  5. Thats a good point, not many lurchers would stand being scruffed out of a hole without a squeek to be fair. Dont think many species would enjoy mixing it with a 20" earthdog cross! that attitude in a bigger body would be a thing to behold!
  6. Cheers Bosun, its this kind of thing I was hoping for from this thread. The cross does appeal to me for the specific reasons I mentioned but as with anything others experiences with the type are great to hear. Id assumed that there skin would be improved by the splash of bull added to the whippet but maybe not. At the end of the day the qualities of dog I eventually use are way more important than the breeds in its make up. Im no way writing off other types of the size of dog im after collie whip or beddy whip etc. Hopefully the right dog will be available when the time comes in a year or 2.
  7. Very tidy that is Trenchfoot, some depth of chest on it!
  8. Looks very nice tb25. Nice and racey
  9. Shes got better skin than any pure whippet ive seen.....but her working style and commitment has led to her having more holes in her than a colander unfortunately. She hits cover harder and bushes better than my black terrier, with the added bonus of pace to follow up what she knocks up and catches well. Thats why she suits me so well. And please dont think that im talking her up so in the future im after selling pups.....because not one will be for sale here or anywhere else.
  10. Not really thinking of buying one in to be honest. Ive got a beddy whip x here that really does all the bushing work for me and my mates when were out mooching. Its more for a possible breeding possibility in a year or 2 over my bitch. Literally the only thing she lacks is a bit more skin toughness, her size around 20" mark is very handy and her nose is good. Im just interested in this x as an option in the future.
  11. I know they will have there limits, but I can imagine they are very useful as a knock about type. The extra toughness skin/bone is something that would be a major plus.
  12. Alright lads, Ive read a few threads on here about Bull x Whippets, there seems to be a mix of opinions on the cross. And some threads are quite old, like any type some people seem to rate em and others dont. Id be very interested to hear from anyone whos currently working one or has worked them in the past. PM me if you prefer, all the best. Moorside
  13. Dress smart, if you turn up looking like a chav landowners wont give you the time of day.
  14. I would love a van or pick up. I think they can attract unwanted attention though. Even just driving to and from permission. Estate cars seem to glide under the radar that bit more. NL I haven't heard that, do you reckon a dog guard would be enough if/when law changes? I know what youre saying but the dogs being visible through the back windows can be a problem, I would say vans can attract a bit of unwanted attention especially at night from a rural crime point of view which is half the problem at the moment. But pickups really are a class above most farmers have them so you blend in when
  15. With terriers boxes are a must when travelling, guess if youve got an edgy lurcher itd be well worth getting a box. To be honest you cant beat a van or a pickup.
  16. Its good, and a mile better than countrymans weekly imo.
