  4. id ask if they have used the best stud available to them or if they used a mates dog because it was free,How many dogs they got ,how often they are worked, and on what. I'd ask if the parents do what you want plus a bit more and how old they are dogs and owners. Ask if they are keeping one Try to ask these questions,to others who know them too. if they are genuine they will understand you poking about. Or if you are unsure ask someone more experienced to ask the questions for you Don't get excited when you see a litter of pups, and buy on a whim ,regardless what the seller says there the
  5. Thats the videos that got my son interested Mate lol.he was amazed by his shooting
  6. take your time and do bit of research but don'just go for a pup because it has these breeds, make sure the parents are well bred and tried and hope it throws to the pups then ask as many questions as you can.
  7. i personally wanted a dog that could catch anything put on with a bit of fire in the belly for tougher prey so i put a bull cross bitch to a well bred coursing dog, but if both parents was such a cross and did what i wanted that would do it for me
  8. i had a pup from samba on here mainly as a companion for my mom and brother who's wheelchair bound and as a weekend mooching partner for the lurchers shes fitting in great runs around like a whirlwind out with the dogs, yet knows when to be gentle and calm with my brother and the grandchildren

  10. there will be 10 different answers from 10 different people no such thing as one cross does all and suits all. what have old timers local to you have, maybe a good starting point then a sire and dam that do what you want.

  14. Shame that dai ,but I'm sure ,at 15 she's had a good life, and as you say,she left some great pups for you but, sadly outlasted them all the best Roy
  15. i bred my bitch for the first time at 8 ,she had 8 pups but 1 was still born, she had difficulty in the last one but was born naturally. if i had my time again i would have bred younger, but selfishly kept putting it off,as her seasons usually in the hunting season, either that or bought in as its much easier lol, incidentally foxdigger off here bred just before me to the same sire but older bitch ,had 14 but most died,so can go either way
