  1. Any up to date pics Wales? Looks a belter,do think it may be big enough to to stop it going to ground?Or at least slow it getting down

  3. I had a patterdale x cocker cracking fast hunting bitch covered lots of ground,a bit hyper when other bushers was there.ok at ferreting if on her own ,but very competitive to hunt, definitely worth while cross
  4. the users here can help, the hunting life has it all! http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/176507-lurchers-working-african-bush/ that's probably where I read it lol,
  5. Read a bit about them wouldn't be many users on here that could help though,
  6. Shame I bet they are smashing pups and would be interested how they turned out
  7. I've never really worked on retrieving , well past the passing a toy on the house. I find recall the key. if they catch and your recall is spot on ,they dont want to leave what they've caught ,but the desire to come back ,will be enough. Retrieving is a natural extension of recall. Get that 110% retrieving should be easy, unless they are retrieving shot game,or.blind retrieves ,but I don't need that.
  8. Looked lovely pups mate was VERY tempted did you get any pics before they went?
  9. It should get all the calcium it needs in a few chicken wings or thighs

  13. The dam is terrier spaniel and beagle With a small bit (16th i think) of collie way back. The sire was a patterdale she is very terrier like in her temperament
  14. Just be carefull giving calcium supplements to pups can do more harm than good, like the 2 bones in the legs growing at different rates etc should come good once the muscle and tendons strengthen.
  15. I've had a lurcher done at 30 days,by a girl who came to my house £25 but west Midlands only said 8 pups she had 8 (one still born)

  20. moorside Agreed mate,or doing a bit of leg work to find genuine lads and dogs , But they are answers you need one way or the other
  21. I see what you.mean but if i was selling a pup id expect the person to ask what the parents have done surely that would be normal?would you not but then if i.was selling a pup id try and ask a few questions myself
  22. i should imagine a springer from working lines ,hunting cover will come fairly natural, stopping it will be the challenge as said get the basics in place like recall and go from there, i regularly see an old couple on a walk and there brace of springers are permanently hunting there owners just think they are nuts, but you can see the instinct all the same.
