    Foreign land pppffffttt!...lol well if your ever over this way and need an extra pair of hands (and ferrets) then I'm just a P.M away the most I have ever got while ferreting in the past around here is no more than 6! I found if its numbers I want the out with the lamp is the way to go which is a no go for me atm! Atb anyway.

    Nice piks and sounds like you all had a good day. When you say off over the bridge, do you mean my neck of the woods? Would be nice to know considering I only got 1 rabbit today lol and need a new bit of ground

    The day started at 9am and me and a mate from work who wanted to come tried a few sets but produce nothing, then we moved on to another place just behind my house put the young jill in and within 30 seconds we heard the thumping and wollop! Rabbit in the net but unfortunatly wilf wasn't quick enough on the other side of the fence and the rabbit slipped the net! 2 more sets produced nothing so we moved onto the next place, we could only find 1 set as its a new bit of permision and the farmer wasn't about to show us the hot spots. We netted up seemed a nice easy 4 holer....until we put the jill

    What size is that black tubing you have in the hutch? I was gonna take some 3inch down pipe from work but thought it looked a bit small?

    My new ferret got a tendancy to bite or nip if you'd rather, I presum its because of new suroundings and they wasn't handled atall at the place where I got her from...so do you think feed her up on a pigeon or leg of rabbit befor I handle her? (Sorry to jump in with a question on this thread).

    Well I'm no where near roads, and livestock has been moved to different fields to where I will be ferreting, plus my dog is completly sound together...one bowl of goats milk shared by them both and it was an instant bond lol..but what I mean by the question is while ferrets are down the set, do I just let the dog potter about or tie her down so she can focus on rabbits coming out the holes if you get me? Atb

    Right its getting close to my 1st ferreting trip on my own and with my 6month old bed/whip...andy kelly nets arrived 2day so preparing everything making sure I've well prepared. BUT...as my 1st time ever using a dog for ferreting and my dogs 1st time out can anybody give me some pointers as to how to let my dog go out it? I.e keep her tied up and let her watch at 1st or just let her go about her business and wait for the bolters in the nets? Be glad to hear your oppinions.

    Yea I will do lol I'm sure once it gets the taste of blood and smell of rabbit it will be ok....I looked on trade it and there was some for sale in weston but when I rang the number it wouldn't work so... I take it your from$ bristol then bri? Where abouts mate?

    No mate blagdon water garden. The ones in cadbury was 45 quid for polecat and 75 quid for a silver LOL!....cheerz bear, hopefully work I'm gonna give it a go this weekend on a small 3 holer on my permision see how she gets on. Atb

    All sorted, don't need one now....the misses just decided to ring me and she thought shed suprise me by buying one from the garden centre...so I now own a 7 month old polcat jill that was 25 quid!

    Been let down on a ferret I was supose to pick up last night. So was wondering if any one had a jill for sale. I'm in bristol and willing to travel but not stupidly far! If anyone could sort me out I would be happy to offer them a days ferreting along with some cash for the jill....I don't really want to have to spend 30 quid for a garden centre bought one that's not from working stock.

    Just been out again on my way home from work and gained another 35 acres where a woman keeps her horses, there's a small woodland area in the middle and there was about 10 rabbits in the fiels when we had a look around!.....this gaining permision malarky is proving to be a doddle lol
