  1. what are the percieved bonuses of this cross..... the aggression and higher flying weights associated with a redtail coupled with the better response of a harris or is it just a money making schemme?
  2. *thats 'list' to view in the wild and positively i.d i am no way involved in or want to trap wild birds
  3. their definately siskens then! thanks for the i.d help! reading doherty's a bird in the hand atm, very interesting read of times gone by- bullfinches, redpolls and linnets are all on my 'list' now!
  4. anybody offer a reason up as to why they havent been about? 3 years ago i had them feeding at my mums everyday, just moved back here end of november and only seen two, one of them yesterday! however there has been a couple of siskens/greenfinches on the nyger every day, embarrassingly i cant figure out how to tell the difference regardless of the internet and the 'bird i.d' books i own
  5. thanks guys, i cant fathom how the buddy system in reality would work, bit of rant here but really a sub-12ft/lb air rifle and i need a license and 6 months supervision, however i could hazard a guess that theres alot of idiots running around the main land with cheap spring loaded air rifles taking pot shots at anything that moves!
  6. the seasons generally coming to an end for most, however joining the Irish Hawking Club could get you acquainted with local falconers
  7. After finally getting around to completing my FAC (Northern Ireland), i gave the company i have my sporting insurance with a quick call to ensure I dont make any silly mistakes, as over here everything, including sub-12ftpb air rifles have to go on a ticket there is no differentation between air rifle/rimfire/shotgun, the interesting thing though was there is now (maybe always been?) a 6 month 'buddy' system in place, anybody heard of this before?
  8. thats what i thought, a few cars/jeeps with dog trailers attached not a horse in sight, thats exactly what the lads that are taking me out were saying theres rarely a kill, i dont no what they were hunting but they looked like the hounds i see closer to home (killultagh pack i think). hairs standing up on the back of your neck, exciting stuff! hearing them in hunting mode
  9. great post wilbur, are you only allowed two hounds like england/wales? and are the guns positioned on experience i.e you have a rough idea were the fox will run? reason i ask is when out with the hawks on a sunday and we are down round the border we usually here/see what i presume are private packs and it looks like a good days sport, you must be a fit man keeping up with them on foot!
  10. £21 million on a bird sanctuary!! sickening when people and their living is being flooded! that money could have dredged rivers, planted hedgerows and maybe covered a bounty on grey squirrels/corvids.... back handers for the stakeholders thats all i reckon its about these days?
  11. imo out of all you lads that never have a takeaway or only once a month you's must have a women that doesnt work and has the time to be cooking and then cleaning up the mess every night!
  12. 3-4 times a week which is too much however my work hours are the main reason plus theres no dishes after lol

  16. ive used vaseline, gink and a clayish type product i forget the name of on my dry flies (im still a novice), they all worked to a degree but to be honest i didnt find much of a difference between the 'gink' and vaseline, the gink was possibly marginally better
  17. CELLS OF ABORTED BABY FEATUS'S!!!!!!MERCURY!!!!!!!!!!!!LOLLOL, would that be organic rather than elemental? . As you say it must be true if read online lol or you been looking at some dodgy sites were a grain of truth becomes a mountain of evidence, it's almost homeopathic . I have it with no ill effects, doesn't stop every virus but does the more common and serious ones.
